  1. Here ya go Bashrat... PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_00211102&REV_00\4&13699180&0&5048: Creative SB X-Fi
  2. Two questions for anyone out there who has an X-fi soundcard... 1. What is the Registry key to enable 5.1 Speakers with an X-Fi installed (was able to do this with the integrated nVidia Soundstorm Drivers)? 2. How do you install the Console (for Entertainment, Audio Creation, and Game Modes), as well as the Speaker connection wizard? I know where the software is on the CD for these applications... Audio\EntCntr Audio\EntMode Audio\GameMode Audio\SpkWiz Although each folder has it's own setup.exe file, when I try to run them, I get an InstallShield Wizard error (-6003 if that matters to anyone). The only way I've found to install these programs is through the actual Setup (Audio\Setup), where you need to select what you want installed. Any help would be very much appreciated...
  3. Yeah, not sure myself what the problem is. I have a XFX 7800GT video card by the way... Not really concerned, as I know Bashrat will have a new pack out soon with the latest drivers (and fixes) for me to test...
  4. Thanks for the updates, but I am still having a problem. Here is what I did... 1. Copied the latest drivers 81.98WHQL into D\G\N 2. Reran the install on my system, and during Runonceex.cmd the screen is still set to 800x600, but as soon as the system reboots, the screen is back to the default of 1280x1024x32. 3. I checked the drivers (under Display Properties), and It is listed as v81.94 (or 81.95 forget which one, as I am at work at the moment). So I think that the drivers under D\G\N\M got installed instead of the newer ones I copied to D\G\N.
  5. There are two nVidia drivers listed under the latest pack (5.11.7). 1. Under D\G\N 2. Under D\G\N\M Both look identical, so what's the deal with them? Do we really need both? Oh, and I believe this causes a problem, as when Windows does finally start up, it doesn't have the correct video settings that I specified under winnt.sif (1280x1024x32), instead its at 640x480x16).
  6. Instead of having a batch file run during Runonceex.cmd, how about just copying the icon shortcuts to the following folder... Unattended CD Location\$OEM$\$Docs\Default User\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch I put all my quicklanuch icons there, works everytime.
  7. Ok, found the cure for the iTunes.msi file keep coming up when you do the silent install. Here is the Registry key you will need to delete (please verify it is the same on your system before getting rid of it). Again, just delete the keys above, and all is solved.
  8. Has anyone figured out a way to add a Theme silently? I tried using the following Registry entries, but it didn't work... 9. Using the Latest Sound Pack 5.11.1, It appears that the driver for the Sound Blaster X-Fi isn't working correctly. In Device Manger I see a ' ! '. If I reinstall the Drivers myself (not from the CD but from the download from Creative), it works just fine. Funny thing is, I'm using the same driver version as the one in the pack (except my says service pack 1). So not sure if this is the issue. Also, is there a control panel that is installed with the X-fi? If there is, I couldn't find its location on my system.
  10. There are a couple of different ways I use to change the computer name, and make the name of the PC the same. The draw back is that your CD wont be unattended anymore. On the Plus side, you can use your unattended CD (or DVD) on any system, and not have to worry about making changes after everything is installed. Please note that both of these programs are ones I've gotten from these message boards. The first is called UserAcc.exe and is run from cmdlines.txt. At about stage T39 in Windows setup, a prompt will come up asking for a Username for the PC. You can find this program from here... The second portion of your request (renaming the PC to the name of the user logged on) is a program called WSName.exe. You can find that program right here. Here is the code I run from RunonceEX.cmd to change the name to the PC name. REG ADD %KEY%\005 /VE /D "Setting the PC name to your username" /f REG ADD %KEY%\005 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\Install\Applications\WSName\WSName.exe /N:%USERID" /f Finally there is a program called Wiscon (again, someone on these boards came up with it), that will change the username, PC name, and even allow an additional user to be created. I run it from RunonceEx.cmd with this code... REG ADD %KEY%\097 /VE /D "Windows Initial System CONfigurator" /f REG ADD %KEY%\097 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\Install\Applications\Wiscon\WISCON.exe" /f I like Wison, as it allows a little more customization (can change the workgroup name), and the addition of an extra user if needed. You can read about Wiscon from here.

If there are programs I wish to add or remove from Quicklaunch, I put the programs under this folder: $OEM$\$Docs\Default User\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch Now the above is only for the Default user, if you want everyone who logs onto the PC to have the same programs in their quicklaunch, you need to use the \$Docs\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch 2. Here is how I delete some of the default icons that are in the Quick Launch bar, in my Cleanup.cmd file I have the following listed... DEL /F /Q "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop.scf" DEL /F /Q "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Nero Startsmart.lnk" DEL /F /Q "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\IsoBuster.lnk" DEL /F /Q "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Ad-Watch SE Personal.lnk" DEL /F /Q "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\QuickTime Player.lnk" Hope this helps anyone having issues with Quicklaunch.
  12. I'm getting an error when I try to download Mass Storage and Sound...Error is page can't be displayed from... [link removed]
  13. Couple of ???'s for ya... 1. Which Keyboards and Mice are in this pack? 2. What versions of the Drivers are used for each? 3. Could you link to the Drivers so I can see if they will work on an English install? Looks cool if it works...
  14. I'm also getting the same error. Before... Setup...Reboot...RunonceEx...Reboot Now with 5.11.5 Setup...Reboot...RunonceEx...Reboot...Startup(Hangs), So I reboot, and all seems ok.
  15. Found a new problem with Base 5.11.5 and all the latest driverpacks (as of Nov 12th). On Nforce 2 motherboard, the Nvidia NVMixer is now installed, but when run I get the following error message... The application cannot start because it could not detect NVIDIA nForce hardware on your system. If this is an nForce system, check the Windows Device Manager to ensure the NVIDIA nForce Audio Codec Interface component is not disabled or conflicting with another component. The application will now shutdown. There are no errors in Device Manager, and the NVIDIA® nForce MCP Audio Processing Unit is installed just fine. However, I did notice that in the System Tray (lower righthand corner), there is a new icon called AC97 Audio Configuration and in Device Manager there is listed under Sound, video and game controllers a Realtek AC'97 Audio (in addition to the MCP Audio listed above). Just a side note, I've also installed the latest Ryan update pack (v2.01) before installing the Driverpacks.
  16. What was the reason for downdating the nvidia driver...? V5.11 (12 Nov 05) -Updated: ATI Radeon driver from 09/14/2005, 8.18.0.0 [5.10] to 10/28/2005, 8.191.0.0 [5.11]. -Fixed: ATI non-officially supported Mobility Radeon driver (that supports all Mobility Radeon's below the 9600 series). -Fixed: Vidia Geforce, Quadro driver, by downdating it from 10/10/2005, 8.1.8.5 [81.85] to 08/02/2005, 7.8.0.1 [78.01]. Also, just picked up a Creative X-Fi sound card, and was wondering if your latest pack includes any Control Panel applet for it?
  17. Bring back an old topic... True, it's not a new version, but with the Autoit script for 2.5, the theme doesn't get installed. So I was wondering if anyone has gotten a them to install using Autoit? Here is the Autoit code that doesn't work correctly... ; Install New Default Theme $search = FileFindFirstFile ( @ScriptDir & "\Theme\*.iptheme" ) If $search = -1 Then $search = FileFindFirstFile ( @ScriptDir & "\Theme\*.ip" ) If $search = -1 Then $search = FileFindFirstFile ( @ScriptDir & "\Theme\*.theme" ) If $search <> -1 Then Do Sleep ( 250 ) Until FileExists( $DL_1 & "\IconPackager.exe" ) = 1 Run ( $DL_1 & "\IconPackager.exe" ) WinWaitActive ( "IconPackager" ) WinSetTitle ( "IconPackager" , "" , "IP Menu" ) While 1 $theme = FileFindNextFile ( $search ) If @error Then ExitLoop ControlClick ( "IP Menu" , "" , "Button7" ) Send ( '{DOWN}{ENTER}' ) WinWaitActive ( "Install Package" ) Send ( @ScriptDir & "\Theme\" & $theme & "{ENTER}" ) WinWaitActive ( "IP Menu" ) ControlClick ( "IP Menu" , "" , "Button5" ) Sleep ( 250 ) If WinExists ( "IconPackager" ) Then ControlClick ( "IconPackager" , "" , "Button2" ) ControlClick ( "IconPackager" , "" , "Button1" ) EndIf $Title_1 = WinGetTitle("") ControlClick ( $Title_1 , "" , "Button1" ) Sleep ( 250 ) If WinExists ( "IconPackager" ) Then ControlClick ( "IconPackager" , "" , "Button3" ) ControlClick ( "IconPackager" , "" , "Button1" ) EndIf Wend FileClose ( $search ) EndIf Wish I was better at Autoit, but I just can't figure this out.
  18. Unless you changed something in your latest Driverpack to change how AudioUtl.exe is run using RunonceEx method, then no, it doesn't work. However, the work around I posted does work (on several different machines NF2, NF3 and NF4 based).
  19. I'm not missing BTS_DPs_ROE.cmd, I took it out on purpose (see my first post above), as it wasn't working correctly. Why, I have no idea, it looks like it should. Why START /WAIT doesn't work, I have no idea either. But I did a search and have seen other posts where people have said the same thing when using RunonceEX.cmd. Finally, I'm really curious why you 7zip the AudioUtl in the first place. I'm not sure its really needed, I mean, it's not like unzipped they take up a lot more space. Besides, its on a DVD which I have plenty of room on.
  20. Ok, final post for the night. If I extract the AudioUtl.exe file (a 7zip archive) into C:\D\S\N. Then run the following code... :DPSA3 IF NOT EXIST %C%N\AudioUtl.exe GOTO DPSA4 IF EXIST %D%nvapu.sys ( START /WAIT %C%N\Setup.exe -s -f1 ) Instead of... :DPSA3 IF NOT EXIST %C%N\AudioUtl.exe GOTO DPSA4 IF EXIST %D%nvapu.sys ( START /WAIT %C%N\AudioUtl.exe -y -o%TMP%\AudioUtl START /WAIT %TMP%\AudioUtl\Setup.exe -s -f1 RD /S /Q %TMP%\AudioUtl ) The Nvidia nVMixer gets installed correctly.
  21. Ok, running BTS_DPs_finish.cmd on my ABIT nForce2 motherboard, I get the following error... Windows cannot find 'C:\DOCUME~1\Username\Local'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search. So with some digging around, I finally found out what is wrong. 1. Your code is correct, you don't need a space between the -o and %TMP%. 2. Your code is written with GUIRunonce method, which uses START /WAIT commands. However, START /WAIT commands don't work in RunonceEX.cmd type files. So what I see happening, is the temp files are extracted to C:\DOCUME~1\Username\Local, but there is no pause, and the files get deleted before the Setup.exe file can run. So lets break down the code a bit... :DPSA3 IF NOT EXIST %C%N\AudioUtl.exe GOTO DPSA4 IF EXIST %D%nvapu.sys ( START /WAIT %C%N\AudioUtl.exe -y -o%TMP%\AudioUtl START /WAIT %TMP%\AudioUtl\Setup.exe -s -f1 RD /S /Q %TMP%\AudioUtl ) 1. So first it looking to see if nvapu.sys Exists in C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers Which it does on my nForce2 Motherboard so then it goes to the next line. 2. Next you tell the AudioUtl.exe to extract itself to %TMP%\AudioUtl. This doesn't seem to work correctly, as it extracts to C:\DOCUME~1\Username\Local instead. 3. The next line would run Setup.exe -s -f1 but since the folder is wrong, nothing happens. 4. Finally, you remove the folder %TMP%\AudioUtl Which doesn't exist anyway. I'm really quite shocked that nobody has brought this up before (I did many searches on the subject BTW ). I guess everyone was just happy that the drivers were installed OK... So now I will try to get the correct code to work using the RunonceEX.cmd method, to help you out for all your hard work Bashrat...
  22. 1. BTS_DPs_ROE.cmd is indeed under $OEM. CMDOW @ /HID @ECHO OFF REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\096 /VE /D "BTS DriverPacks: finishing..." /f REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx\096 /V 1 /D "%SystemDrive%\D\BTS_DPs_finish.cmd" /f 2. cmdlines.txt [COMMANDS] "UaMusic.CMD" "UserAcc.exe" "REGEDIT /S regtweaks.reg" "REGEDIT /s MenuOrder.reg" "RunOnceEx.cmd" UaMusic.cmd playes music during setup (T15 or somewhere near there). UserAcc.exe asks for a name for the initial User account (used so anyone can use the DVD) Both Regedit commands are self explanitory. Not sure if this might be a problem, but check out this code from BTS_DPs_finish.cmd... :DPSA3 IF NOT EXIST %C%N\AudioUtl.exe GOTO DPSA4 IF EXIST %D%nvapu.sys ( START /WAIT %C%N\AudioUtl.exe -y -o%TMP%\AudioUtl START /WAIT %TMP%\AudioUtl\Setup.exe -s -f1 RD /S /Q %TMP%\AudioUtl ) Notice there is no space between the o%TMP%. Just throwing things out, not really sure what is causing the problem.
  23. Ok, just to clear up any issues people might have with the post above, yes I am using all the latest packs (as of today) from BTS website. Also, I just finished testing the BTS_DPs_finish.cmd on a test system here at work (Dell GX280 with ATI video card and Creative sound card), and while the ATI control panel installed, no Sound Control Panel did (not really sure if there is one for a Creative 24bit sound card). No errors were generated though. Guess I will have to wait till I get home and try it on my nForce 2 motherboard that has the Soundstorm Control Panel.
  24. Long standing issue with the DriverPacks (since v5.05 at least, never tried any earlier versions), not installing any additional Sound Control Panels (through the file BTS_DPs_finish.cmd). Here is the source listed... REMOVED by moderator For whatever reason, this doesn't work as part of my existinging RunonceEX.cmd file, so I removed BTS_DPs_ROE.cmd from cmdlines.txt, and instead use this in my RunonceEX.cmd file... REG ADD %KEY%\096/VE /D "BTS DriverPacks: finishing..." /f REG ADD %KEY%\096/V 1 /D "%SystemDrive%\D\BTS_DPs_finish.cmd" /f 2. Now I know that adding the BTS_DPs_finish.cmd to my existing RunonceEX.cmd file works correctly, as the D:\ folder will be deleted. If I use the default method (running it through cmdlines.txt), the D:\ folder doesn't get deleted. Which means that BTS_DPs_cleanup.cmd is running which is at the end of the BTS_DPs_finish.cmd file. Also, both Graphics control panels have been installed (I have a system with a nVidia 6800GT and a ATI 9600) so that part works as well. The above runs right before my cleanup command... REG ADD %KEY%\098 /VE /D "Cleaning Up and Rebooting" /f REG ADD %KEY%\098 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\Install\Applications\cleanup.cmd" /f In which I give 3 minutes before the system will reboot. There are no error messages when both the above BTS_DPs_finish.cmd and cleanup.cmd are run. Windows starts to load (I see the Poweroff in 3 minutes, the Windows Wallpaper comes up), but that's it. The start bar never show up (like it used to do before using the Driverpacks). Finally, when the 3 minutes are up (oh and I've tried with up to 10 minutes before reboot, and it made no difference), the system has an error message which pops up so fast and then disappears you can't read it. I am going to try to just run BTS_DPs_finish.cmd on my system (with the D:\ folder on my C drive) and see if I can duplicate the error so I can actually read what is happening, and will report back. I guess my question is, has anyone else noticed this? If so, what is the fix, if any? Oh, and does it make sense what I just posted above...
