Hi All, I tried using the ip address instead of dns as well as converting the ip to octal then adding 8 zeros to the first and third octal then adding 7 zeros to the second and fourth octal. Sometimes it can get into the filtered site but the page is not displayed properly, pictures are not all loaded, and I can't stream a video. Clicking a link will sometimes, lead me to the blocked page saying " Access Denied Access to the requested URL has been denied by SurfControl" Any help that will completely bypass this software will be appreciated. Hi Allen2, it doesnt work. No dialog box pops out wen I connect to a shared folder. Instead there is an error msg that says, it is not accessible, you might not have network permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator....

As such, when a user will connect to my shared folder, they will be prompted to type in a password. In the same way, when I access a shared folder, say for example, Mike's shared folder, I will be prompted to type in Mike's password too. Thank you very much.

Hi to all msfn members! I made a form with 2 textbox in html. in the database, I have 1 of type numeric and the other of date / time. I supply the right input for the two textboxes, meaning, I input for example 1 on first textbox and 2/23/2005 on the second box, everything is saved well on the database. but when i input 'abc' on first textbox and 'abcd' on the second box, it displays an error message "data type mismatch". Hi friends... I already placed a UTP straight through cable from one linksys wireless G to the other linksys wireless G. Still I cant view the computer on the other DSL provider. Pls note that my friends computer I am trying to connect with is connected to a Linksys wireless G router which in turn is connected to a PLDT dsl modem. My PC in the other hand, is connected to another Linksys wireless G router which in turn is connected to a GLOBE dsl modem. Note also that we have the same subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and same workgroup as DOVE. Why cant I see his computer? gives me a headache because I want to connect to his shared printer but I cant connect! only those computers connected to the same dsl modem can connect to each other. Pls help me.

Hi everyone. I am sakulati and I am just wondering why I cant view other computer that have different dsl provider although we belong to the same workgroup? We have 2 dsl providers and our network and internet distribution is Wireless through a linksys Wireless G router. Here is the scenario: My computer uses GLOBE dsl tru a linksys wireless router. My friends computer uses PLDT dsl tru a linksys wireless router (both configured as DHCP). But we both have the same workgroup. How is that, I cant even access his shared files neither view his computer in my network places? or even using a UNC \\computername, the path does not exist. Can you pls help me? there must be a way for this and I know Microsoft has tested this already. Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.

Hi ScubaSteve... I already tried scanning it with McAffe's because the laptop is already pre installed with antivirus and yet nothing seemed to be found. No virus at all! I really can believe this that every time I start IE, SVCHost error would say something like: "SVCHost.exe has generated an error and will be closed." Although I can still use the IE but the error msg pops out every 5-10 minutes. Note: When I restart or boot the laptop, an error msg is displayed that "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has been shut down by Windows" something like that, and when you click OK, it keeps poping out until you click 5-10 times then it stops, then I can work already. Its pretty bothering. Also, in that window, it says something about DEP (Data Execution & Prevention) and when I go to DEP, SVCHost is there in the exceptions list. Any idea?

Hi all, I have a problem regarding my setup of 2003 server. I setup 2003 server and used a public IP directly connected to the Internet because I'm planning to register my domain name and that IP. but the problem is, It keeps shutting down with an error on the lsass.exe and gives a countdown of shutting down in 60 seconds. I hit shutdown -a and it stops but the RPC and other services are stopped even the administrative tools applets like users and groups and other services of the server even the start menu and shutting down is not working. I have to restart the computer by pressing the button. I pretty much reformatted the PC and re-installed the 2003 server and after supplying the public IP in the TCP/IP configuration, it gives the error again with the countdown of 60 seconds. Could it be sasser or blaster? Pls help me how to stop this error coz its so tiring to re-install everything. Thanks very much.

Hi, how do I display the date and time on the server that updates automatically with the system clock? using the <%=now%> code displays it but you have to click refresh all the time to update the time with the system. How can I avoid clicking refresh and still my time follows the system time? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all, merry xmas to all!!! How can we remotely shutdown a computer in a local area network running windows xp sp2? I cannot shut it down it displays error message " Access Denied " and if I try to connect using the computer management, It displays an error "RPC server is unavailable" This is driving me nuts...Hope you guys can help...I've read on forums about adding a user account on the remote computer same as with the computer that is shutting down with the same priviledges, but it still dont work. Hi all...well I have some problems here...today, my computer is infected by two viruses (troj_dropper.wk and troj_multidro.a) Im using PCCillin and they cant seem to quarantine it..whats worse, my computer isnt running the way it did before. Can I manually delete these two files (libHide.dll and System.exe) hope you all could help me find a solution. peace.

Make sure the computer that has the internet connection is running DHCP...if your running windows 2000 Advanced Server or 2003, then check it in the Administrative Tool --> Configure Your Server Wizard and check if your running the DHCP...after checking the server that has the ICS or Internet Connection Sharing server is running DHCP, check all the workstations or clients connected to it by running services.msc and check DHCP Client is automatic or started...after that, go to network connections of each client, view the properties then click tcp/ip then view its properties then click obtain IP address automatically...you should be having internet access already...I hope this will be beneficial to you...

Hi all!!! We have installed a windows 2003 server trial version in the lab and I cant seem to connect to a shared folder. I have shared a folder in one of the computers running 2003 server with proper permissions like NETWORK was added and as well as EVERYONE. the read and write permissions were also set. the problem is when I try to access the shared folder ( using the same OS win 2003 server ) by typing the computer name in the run command (e.g. \\lab1-30) a window would pop up with a disabled textbox default to GUEST and a textbox for the password...men, cant I change the username? its grayed and I cant log or connect to the shared resource!!! How can I fix this bug? pls help me...
