  1. Hello Tihiy, recently I reinstalled my graphics-driver, the nv8269-driver for a gf4ti. Now I again have black edges, like shadows around some 32-bit-icons!!! Other members have the same problem, as they sad a few days ago. The win-standard icons don't have those. And they only appear if I set the icon-quality to 32-bit. Of course the machine is running with 32-bit colors. Do you habe any ideas what to do now and why this happens?!? Greets Flipp
  2. Hello, Does anybody know if there is something known about BattleEye and KEX compability?? Flipp
  3. Hello, does anyone know the famous, little, fast, 2d-action-shooter, free-if-lo-res-is-enough-for-you, game SOLDAT (www.soldat.pl) ??? Older versions worked on win98(se) without problems. To be more precise it is never the program "Soldat" but "BattleEye" that can make problems... As far as I remember correctly, they changed something about BattleEye with the new version. This made it refuse to work. I just tried to play it again with the new KernelEx 4.5 RC3, and up to now everything works just fine!!!! Can someone please confirm this?? Does anyone beside me know this game anyways...?!? Greets Flipp
  4. Heyho, I just wanted to say that assigning media-files in vlc 1.1.4 via the vlc-options doesn't work. But it works with the explorer dialog.. (like if no EXE is assigned to a file and you double-click it..or go to the "folderoptions" and assign vlc there) Btw. I noticed some new files in the "file-type" dialog of the "folderoptions". Those are obviously put there by vlc, but are not working...for me. Can someone confirm this?? Flipp
  5. Thanks for the new KEX!! No new problems, and less old ones.. While Flash 10.1 works well now (the sound-problem is gone), I still get the playlist-"error" in vlc 1.1.2 (radiostations (shoutcast.com) are placed at the end of vlcs playlist)...(I just thought that this might be a problem of the tray-icon als well, but I didnt try this..) BUT WITH vlc 1.1.4 THERE IS NO PROBLEM!!! <--- if you cant open files sometimes, go to vlcs options and deactivate the systray-icon!!! It seems to not shut down properly.. Thats it for now, Flipp
  6. Heyho, I just dropped in because I've recently had some problems with some programs... To be more precise, its a 3d-surface-generator, "k3dsurf" ( k3dsurf.sourceforge.net ) , is someone willing to try it, plz?? for me it works best with the win2000-config. but not always... after a restart I sometimes get graphical problems, and it seems I am missing some fonts, can someone confirm that?? other things are Inkscape and Synfig ,two drawing-progs.. they work best in win2000-mode as well. in XP-mode I get errors causing a crash. For example just try a right-click in Inkscape.. Its a Gtk+ error, thats all I can say. Might there be a solution?? Or what is this telling me, since I'm not a programer.. Btw. whats you guys favourite drawing-program (2d-, 3d, CAD-)?? Greets Flipp
  7. Do you guys have a nvidia-driver?! Ive had the same problem.. I just remember that it had something to do with the order one installs RP9 and the driver. I dont want to try it now, cause its finally working.. Maybe try to switch to 32bit-icons, when PR9 is, but the driver isn't installed... and then of course install it as well.. Something like that could solve this problem.. Flipp
  8. No I only didn't use RP9-themes. So only the "(classic)" theme works. But instead of adding songs to the playlist and playing them, VLC adds them and restarts the playlist from the beginning... ...well everything around the graphics (in options and so on) works now... AM I the only one with flash 10.1 problems, anyways???
  9. Hey, the new flash (10.1) actually works, but i cannot change the soundvolume in firefox, SOMETIMES! and VLC 1.1.2 works (only without RP9), but it just always adds the songs, or the radiostations i click on to the playlist (this is not enabled in the options) instead of starting a new playlist with the recent song on top... Flash 10.0.45 and VLC 1.0.3 both are fully functional!!
  10. Hello everyone, finally i made it, im registered.. Just let me thank u inventor-guys for helping me to survive with my little machine untill now.. since i just use it for math-calculations and something like CAD, it still does its job right. The highest probability to get a software working is with open-source-software, since the "real" software often uses a new installer. So this is my fist question.. is there a way to deal with these installers, like "unzipping" or implanting, and why are those installers such a problem (for KEX, or what u might need)?!? For example this free CAD-Software wont install: SolidEdge2DDraft. I still have other things on mind, concerning KEX.. First the hardware: ..I have win98SE GER-version, a gf4 ti 4800 videocard, 512 mb of ram, ...so u see, its a rather old machine, but it survived.. Then some essential? software: -KEX, the recent one -RP9.6, recent one, 32-bit icons installed but skins disabled (win2000 theme)* -Auto-Patcher for Win98SE Dec 2008, seems to work fine -win98se sp3 b4 ,german version: http://www.nandlstadt.com/win98sp.htm -tweaked gf4ti-drivers 82.69, i have some problems, sometimes the Screen got black on startup -but removing the nvidia-stuff from the autostart fixed this. But then it seems like the screen is not refreshed correctly in some applications, this is fixed when i access the "Eigenschaften von Anzeige" -> "Einstellungen" -> "weitere Optionen" .. I dont know how its translated on EN OSes, maybe something like: "Properties of Display" (in the system-controls) -> "Settings" (last tab) -> "further options". Sounds strange but it really helps. Can someone tell me why?! -Net 2.0 with some updates -MS visual C++ 2008, visula J# , i dont know if i really need those... -Firefox 3.5.10, didnt know 3.5.11 was out now, firefox 3.6.x will not wirk with Java, right?!?? -Java 6u20, the last one that works, right?? -Flash 10.1, thanks to new KEX, BUT I CANNOT CONTROL THE SOUND-VOLUME!!!!! anyone experienced this?? flash 10.0.45 worked just fine. -VLC 1.1.2, (*)ONLY works fine if themes in RP9 are disabled, the VLC-Guys even tell the win98 users to use KEX! nice!! ( with vlc 1.0.5 i experienced the usual "no fonts in options"-problem. what am i missing?? is there a needed font-pack somewhere?!? well it became a rather long list.. is there someone to give me a hand with some of my problems?? or if there even is a completely different way, dont hesitate to tell me... greets FlippX
