  1. Its only based on what I heard that spnotes.htm has to be included, but I wouldn't really think it matters since its just an html file. I haven't made my own Multi-boot DVD, so I can't really help.
  2. Depends on what Instant Messaging software it is.
  3. Attached are the other 2 files, hope this helps. Since you have win51ip.sp1 in the root of the CD, then its definitely slipstreamed. Although you probably deleted those other 2 files by accident. root_files.zip
  4. I believe that's js56nen.exe (a.k.a Q814078), which should be installed using /Q:A /R:N
  5. Is SP1 slipstreamed? Do the files such as win51ip.SP1, spnotes.htm, WIN51, WIN51IP exist in the root of the CD?
  6. AVIs are commonly encoded in DivX or XviD these days, and Microsoft don't hold the codecs to these. Try giving the DivX codec a go at http://www.divx.com/divx/
  7. That seems quite old, and /M doesn't do anything either. If you really want to know what updates you need then install Windows XP SP1 and visit Windows Update. Write down all the critical update KB article numbers (which I'm very certain matches the list in this thread), and the recommended updates which you might optionally want. (Not everyone needs the Recommeded updates)
  8. Newbie - looks good, give it a go in VMware Workstation or Virtual PC, they're excellent for testing out installations on. affidavit - it was pure luck that the cat files wasn't needed at all for an XP installation. My method doesn't work for Win2k or Win2003 - probably because I didn't specify cat files. There's no cat files in my snapshot, and the Update Rollup isn't slipstreamed.
  9. 826939, DirectX OPK, 832894, and 826939 is in the list.... the rest are probably superceded by newer updates. 817778 is a "Recommended" update. The files shown in the screenshot matches the list on the first page of this thread. The final list is in the first page of the thread. No critical updates are shown on Windows Update.
  10. 1. Rename them all to a limit of 8 characters. 2. No point installing 817787 if you're going to install WMP9. Its an update only for WMP8. 3. Put 828026 after WMP9_MM2, otherwise you're trying to apply a WMP9 update to a system that doesn't have WMP9 installed. 4. Place 832483 and 832894 down the bottom of the list, stick to the number ordering
  11. Quite easy, even though it doesn't have a GUI. All of its options are controlled by a .conf file, which is heavily commented. Installing PHP on Apache is a breeze too
  12. Well there's not much noticable difference, apart from the $OEM$ folder on the CD: http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/oemfolders.htm And winnt.sif in the i386 directory.
  13. fac007, I've already replied to this here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=70&t=16204
  14. http://unattended.msfn.org should give you everything you need. It has for others
  15. Update Rollup 1 should have taken care of that
  16. I don't know where you got yours from, but the one from WindowsUpdate Corporate is a Type 2 hotfix, so its /Q:A /R:N http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownlo...2a04af2b34d.exe
  17. On Windows Update Corporate, it looks like they've re-uploaded a different version as the posted date is November 2003. I'll look into it.
  18. I haven't got that file anymore, could you verify its "type 1" by running the /? switch on it?
  19. Its simple. bat (or cmd) files do the jobs automatically that you would usually type out in the Command Prompt manually. Go to Start > Run > cmd and type HELP for everything you need to know.
  20. Av3ng3r - KB817778.exe is causing this. Move this to your file.bat file.
  21. You import them to the registry by doing regedit /s path\to\file.reg http://www.MSFN.org/unattended/xp/registrytweaks.htm
  22. Try reading the first page of this thread... :/ Install it as a normal Type 1 Hotfix, its listed in the Type 1 section on the first page of this thread.
  23. Is that shown on Windows Update? Because it isn't showing up on my end...
  24. Read Applications that use Quotations. But you're better off lauching it in a cmd window for simplicity. Re-download the patch, Microsoft released a revised version on October 29th 2003.
