Thanks neon2m I'll try it as soon as I have some free time. there will be probably an additional script in finals folder for those who prefer full Pecmd. Otherwise, I have a doubt on PINT function, pintools.exe also allows you to pin on Classic Shell start menu. for readability Topic, when you share code, you can use: [ code][ /code] or [ spoiler][ /spoiler], without the space.

Hi jknorr, I found a little time to look a bit powershell, based on Win7PESE plugin and looking at the WinPE-PowerShell.cab package. I do not really use powershell, Can you do some tests to see how well it works. PowerShell Requires DotNet Framework. MsPowerShell.7z

Before and after adding package. For registry changes, you can use Regshot. And for files you can use for example: Dir /A:-D /B /S *.* >Boot.wim_Filelist.txt But firstly, you should already tried manually with the original win8.1 ADK boot.wim file http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh824972.aspx.

I do not really use Powershell, I did not planned to work on, I do not have enough time right now.For a start point, If you want to look at, you can try to add Package to the original ADK8.1 boot.wim and then capture files and registry added. Dependencies: Install WinPE-WMI > WinPE-NetFX > WinPE-Scripting before you install WinPE-PowerShell.Source: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh824926.aspx You can also possibly look at Windows Management Framework 4.0 (not for WIN8.1) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40855and also, PowerShell v2.0 plugin in Win7pese can perhaps help a bit http://w7pese.cwcodes.net/Projects/Win7PESE/Components/MsPowerShell.script In Win8.1SE Scripting and WMI are already in the base and there is a plugin available for DotNet .Unfortunately Dism /Add-Package does not work in 8.1SE which uses install.wim hives. Let us know if you have any progress

Hi wimb, Oops, I forgot to change after devcon downloaded by GWT, It's done now, thanks For SearchPstart, I moved the launch of Ps.exe later in the boot process, here: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce,It should be better, I hope, the desktop is loaded at this time. Keep anyway the desktop shortcut. The updated plugins are as usual on the server.

Thanks I'll try to find time, next week, to watch all this. I need to spend less time on PE now. For ClassisShell, I think that it is better to start with fuwi's plugin, post #93 above, with some nice stuff.

Hi neon2m, There are no fundamental changes in shortcuts.exe, it seems OK.I saw your toPECMD program, I have not looked in detail or tested yet, is it finished? It seems really interresting for Pecmd fans Shortcuts does well its work for several years now, ToPECMD could be inserted into a new script in the Finals folder for those who prefer. However, I prefer PinTool program especially for your addition: Pin to Start Menu in ClassicShell. I will study, thanks

Thanks for these tests, so, the new program does not bring anything more, unfortunately. I will stay as it is currently. I had some other feedback on this, but not many. It seems to work for most people. In this case, we must build with all programs in boot.wim as you already do and as you prefer.

Hi wimb, I do not have the hardware to fully test, here my USB keys/disk is mounted, assigned at startup and shortcuts on Y:\Programs are created without worries. If you have a little time, to test without the option "Run ALL programs from RAM", to see if your USB disk is mounted on Y: at startup and shortcuts created. No rush, for my part, I'm busy this afternoon. I changed a little MountPEMedia with:The main loop to wait (30s max) for drives to be assigned by the system is splitted in 2 parts now (8s and then 30s, max), with RenewUSB, Disable/Enable Root Hub20(30) between both.Hoping that this will allow Windows assign USB drives at this time. The loops search the flag file CdUsb.y or ISO to mount the CD/USB/ISO on drive Y:, following MoutPEMedia.ini. The shorctus on Y: can then be created. Edit: it is better with the modified scripthttp://win81se.cwcodes.net/Temp/CDDrive_X_Y.7z

About preset choice, it is not the first time that I hear you on this subject. It is something already seen in some software (few) with a simple or advanced button. Here, it is designed differently in the form of component, function,... modularly. A preselection of plugin is a difficult thing to do to satisfy everyone, if I had to, I'm sure that I am wrong in my choices. Some people need, Paint, Network, DotNet, VC++ or audio ... ... others not. I think it's better to let users choose what to add, what to remove (by just enabling, disabling plugins) to suit their need. It takes a little time at beggining, I agree but as learning others softwares. The other choices on within each function are defined by default, it is not necessary to change them but those who want to customize more, can do it. Also, there is not only packages, updates are done on a server, so something available today will not necessarily be valid next week, because options, plugins have been added in the meantime. Another project could be a simple application, with some preset options, minimum, medium, full without leaving others choice. Another choice equally commendable and there may be things, between both. You must not forget also, that I, we are not professionals, it is a hobby that is dependent on free time, unfortunately not extensible I try to do my best and I try to listen (sometimes only keep in a corner) but I'm wrong also, which allows me to progress and learn. The most important is all the time already freely given to build a project. Not sure that this continues much longer, longer.

Project Updated: Win8.1SE_2014-03-11 Fix a bug in Attribute Changer Petges which prevents the good building out of the box. thanks paraglider and wimb for reporting : Other changes: 1 - Copy Files: Options to choose a User Account Picture, displayed at login. Thanks 2aCD Explorer: Option to display the Quick Launch toolbar. Thanks JFX for the WinNTSetup registry keys, shared. Choice to beautify Explorer with original imageres.dll icons (from install.wim). But it is a bit heavier: 47Mb vs 7Mb unpacked. Thanks 2aCD Search Pstart: Search PStart.exe in PStart folder on a drive to launch it. Use wimb's PS.exe. Thanks. Remove Watermark: Fixed the option "Only for x64 build". Audio and Original Display Driver are now selected by default. Note: For PXE booting, we must, It is better to select "Run ALL programs from RAM" in "CdDrive - X: - Y:" For CD/USB, you can also use this option to get all Apps in boot.wim. You can use this option, if your USB drive is not recognized at startup with shortcuts not created then or if you prefer to have all boot.wim. It requires more RAM available based on applications added, DotNet,... and a slightly slower start. To boot computers having BIOS or UEFI firmware with an USB stick/disk, you can use also UEFI_MULTI.exe to make Multi-Boot USB-Drives http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=25269 Important: Always Check Win8.1SE topic post 1 to get latest updates and informations.

This is the MoutPEMedia, program called at startup, that changes the USB drive to Y: It seems to work in most configurations, but when it does not operate, as in your case with Intel i5 machine and USB3, the shortcuts are not created unfortunately. In this case, it is indeed better to have programs in boot.wim. In addition to the choice "Run ALL programs from RAM" maybe more easily accessible. There may be something to do in MountPEmedia.exe by adding Disable/Enable USB 3.0 Root Hub (like in RenewUSB3 script) to try to make the USB drive available at this time and to create shortcuts then. I'll try to see all that, a little later. thanks

Some delay in the replies, I do two things at the same time Copy to USB does almost the same thing, normally to support BIOS and UEFI. It also copies the others folders (eg: programs) on USB stick/disk. I'll look, but a little later, on how, maybe, offer the choice "Run ALL programs from RAM" earlier or easily for a better use with your nice UEFI_MULTI tool.
  18. ChrisR

    WIn8.1SE

Yes, agree, but it does not prevents to have applications on USB (Y: drive) or others drive, as for your SearchPstart. DotNet or some applications are heavy like AV, Spybot,... and for them it is better to have them outside. Also not to confuse users, accustomed like that with options "Run from Normal", "Run from RAM" or "Run from CD" for All apps Perhaps I would change near future, I need the advice of other, also. Otherwise,I have to try UEFI_MULTI.exe, does it copies boot.wim only.

Hi wimb, Yes there is a bug in Attribute Changer Petges 7.10f , I added at the last moment and unfortunately I have not tested. it was also reporting by paraglider. I am currently preparing a new package at least to correct this for a successful building. I added SearchPstart.Script, it had never been on the server, It is here now And OK Audio and Original Display Driver are now selected by default. For PXE booting, we must, It is better to select "Run ALL programs from RAM" to have all apps in boot.wim. This option is not checked by default. For booting from CD/USB, others prefer to have applications outside to reduce boot.wim and have a faster startup. I'm not really sure of this choice!!! Win7(8)PESE work like this for a while but with the amount of RAM available on the newest PC the option may be selected by default. Thanks, I continue preparing the new package 2014-03-11

Thank you for all your returns with screenshot Wimb If you see things to improve, let me know It is a matter of time to further improve but also the contributions of users, knowledge I agree, it is better to use your nice Mini Win7/8 VHD to support printing or other things more closest from windows. Maybe one day in PE, nothing urgent and not so asked. As soon as I find a little more free time, I'll try iPXE and wimboot. See you around

Thanks to show iPXE wimboot , seems really interresting, I need to try it Done, bootmgr.exe is copied to the root now. "1 - Copy Files" is on server. About Printer, I still have not watched if I can help a bit. It is not really a priority for me in a PE but but it would be a good feature for the project. Thank you for your advanced and the list of files

You can read this topic and reply #7 to understand a bit why the two versions are present. Use Win81SE82_Builder which is faster. If something confuse with an additional plugin check with Win81SE80_Builder. The 2 help files are substantially identical but not written by the same people. My poor English does not allow me to easily write a tuto, readme,.htm, Sorry for the confusion that can occur!
