Hi myselfidem, what for? I didn't removed this time MS Mail and MSN Explorer in section "Network". And NOW when I read the english language there is "Needed for: Sending to Desktop context menu option" WAHA - this is NOT in the german translation and I need to use nLite in german because my english is so lousy as you saw in this thread. Also in the english language it is called "MSMail and MAPI" - in german it is only called "MSMail" ;-(( boah ey Ups, it is mentioned there in the german version....sorrysorrysorry

I can't belive it - I really can't belive it: it is either MS Mail or MSN Explorer (the onliest changings I made in this version: I let them both be) Installed, desklink is there as far as there are not again Troubles (I now make the Version I really want) - the problem seems to be solved (I really cannot belive this, because I removed this before and the problem was not) also I wonder, what the heck this should have to do with *.desklink. I presume, that it is maybe a combination of some things. Is it ok, if somebody post the ... solving (correct word?)... upstairs to my first question, so everyone looking for the same problem will read it immediately? including the presume, that it is maybe a combination of different things? hi GroftLuigi - I didn't remove anything from outlook express (I don't like it but I use it, all other tried mail-clients are much worser than this and so I don't use a good one, but the "lessest bad") and the "Send to email"-thing is there, not disapeared. But however, with the next windows version (right now in work) I will try your hint. This will be maybe in an half an hour or so. The only "Mail"-Thing I kicked, was "MSMail" but this I kick out since a long time and the problem don't happen. I will tell here when done. Till then: also to you thank you Creatura

hi -X- und wb myselfidem (interpretiere ich die Flagge korrekt als Schweiz?)... ok: -X-, I tried yours - it doesn't work - sorry but thank you also very much and myselfidem: please let me quote myself: this is the same, just with lesser words (and btw: I also found in my search this ms-support page) it is really very kind how intense you try to help me. Let me tell you what I tried out in the last hours (and 10 burned CDs) since your posts before: I installed as test a almost untouched Win (just the AHCI and Chip-driver - sure) - the desklink was there where he should be than I "touched" softly the Win (not too much) and - bingo - it was gone. I have now about - uff - 30? 40? possibilities, which one is the pain in the a**. Since I found this out, I make Win-Installations with lesser and lesser touchings, till I catch this evil thing. (and yes, every fresh Try is made with the original win from before - I'm not THAT blond ). This is a better situation than before, because when I checked the Problem I had made heavy "touchings" and thought, I need to check out EVERYTHING (which means 70 or more installations). I'm lucky that I had the problem with the first try, so the possibilities are reduced But now it is 2:16 am my time and I need to sleep. wow, what a cool site but it will take me years founding out if (if!) there is the information I'm looking for but this side is very very cool and when I'm through with my problem I will have a very intensive look for it. *sigh* I thought here in the nLite-Forum there are users which know the problem and solved it already If Dino wouldn't be - surely - a very busy man i would try to email him but I guess he has enough to do without my crying for help - for sure HE would know the answer :-) Dino is not God but very close to it :-)

how do i try... erm... I rightclick on any file and click [send to] and look what appears - how else I should try it? This is the onliest way i know how to find out and this is as far as I know the daily routine to use this thing - ... greetz

erm... why? the folder is there - also the shortcuts are in there (including my Desktio.Desklink-Shortcut) it is just only not to see when I try to use it. All other shortcuts are there (like send to email, send to.. uff how it is called in english... my own documents? also if I plug an external HDD the link appears) the *.desklink thing is there but not to see

hehe sorry but this Default User is already out of my plan - even if this should work it wouldn be a solution for me . since years I clean not only with nLite but also manually EVERYthing out what don't pay the rent . and there is a LOT you can remove without any Problems. nLite is always just Step 1 -than came Step 2: XPlite, than came Step 3: manually and so on - if everything works, I need 3-5 days to make my PC fresh And surely I have setted, that everything is to see, no files hidden, no extensions hidden, etc. - this is the first thing to do on a fresh made PC

I will try your reg-thing out (and immediately post the result here) - are you sure you took this reg-key from XP and not from Win 7 as I have read, that you are a win 7 User? Anyhow it would be great if anybody could tell me, from which application, service, .... whatever... this thing is dependent - so in the next eNlited Win XP I just don't throw this thing out - should be the easiest way Back in 5 Minutes and tell the result of your Reg-Key greetz fly out to you and - anyway if it works or not - thanky you for trying it Creatura

Hi People, as a lot of users in the internet mentioned, my "Send to Desktop as Link" (or however it is called in english) is gone with the wind. Allover you can read the Solution: make a new empty file, call it "Sendto Desktop.desklink" or whatever but this doesn't work. So I guess, that this function is depending on s.o.m.e.t.h.i.n.g. else in Windowsenceless, which I removed with nLite - but there is no way to find out WHAT. It is maybe a Service, an application... Is anybody out there who have a tipp for me? my life is in the moment not very easy because I try to change my new Laptop (Win 7, 64Bit) into an Old Style Win XP Pro, 32Bit-Thing (everything works almost fine after 20 or 25 versions but there is still THIS Problem) (and please no comments like "why you wanna do so, take Win 7 it is great etc.) I don't want Win 7, end of the story. I use XP till I die (was a joke, in 2 or 3 years there will be no way around this bastardious thing) also my Problem doesn't depend on this new machine - I had it a couple of years ago already on an elder machine. at least: please forgive me my lousy english - I never learned it in school. Hi cluberti, I don't understand your intension, writing this here now. Why shall I be carefully clicking the Accept-Button? I use nLite and I use it private in my home - if (and I repeat it again: IF) my Company also use it, than it is not my problem or do you think I'm the boss there? and again the Quote youself quoted: yes sure Ponch, but I also wrote: who knows? Because I don't know it. (and I really don't care). This saying was anyway only rethoric and I wonder, why so much talkin is around a rethoric saying.
