Normally I wouldn't disagree with Jaclaz, but this time I think he's wrong about the CTRL-commands I didn't see any difference in trying either with or without using uppercased keys with CTRL-commands either. The "Normal" commands are case sensitive, however. Greetz, Peter.

No, they wouldn't do the data recovery for free and I don't think they would do it anywhere else on the planet. Hmmm, could be... AFAIK this is just a myth: at first I sent in the drive for a "Free recovery" and received a quote for €900 ex VAT. So in the end I did it myself for under €10 with the help of this thread. Anyway: weird problem. The only thing I can think about is that you have a different (revision) PCB on that drive. When powering the PCB only (with the platters not connected) you'll enter its special debug/diagnostics mode (the drive's firmware is on the platters, so this isn't being loaded at all) and you only have access to the drive using low level commands over the (TTL-RS232) diagnostics port. After "Upgrading" the drive's firmware, (to my knowledge) the bootcode on the PCB isn't changed. You should be able to find out your drive's firmware revision by pressing the CONTROL and A keys simultaneously. When issuing CTRL+L you should get the drive's sign-on message. I don't have a ST31000340AS myself so I don't know what the replies should be (and whether the commands would work or not), but you can have a look at that and copy-paste the results here for others to compare. The XLR-inputs of the speakers are likely balanced, but the (3.5mm?) output of the soundcard is un-balanced, so that's not going to work without a balun. I'm not familiar with the models you mention, so I don't know how good these speakers are in rejecting outside signals. The cables you'll generally find are cheap and badly shielded and the signals sent out from your mobile will indeed give you interference. If you want to go the analog way: get yourself a good quality (and properly shielded) 3.5mm jack to RCA-cable (those really expensive ones) and keep them as short as possible (and preferably not a multitude of the GSM-band wavelength; although I only have experience with beating, low frequency, HF signals). I prefer to do everything digitally and have attached my Club Agrippa over optical S/P-DIF to an external professional DA-convertor and amplifier, but I can imagine that would be a bit over the top for you Last option is to ban all mobile phones within a 10m (30 feet) or so radius Greetz, Peter.

Depending on what an ISP can offer, you can have multiple (static) IP's on a single (A)DSL connection; normally such a package is called something like "Bussiness DSL" or similar. However, you can't have multiple DSL ISP's using the same telephone line (at least not here in Holland), since (for obvious reaons) they don't want to share a line with the competition.

There isn't any real need to have to see the problem with another type of browser (but I'm sure you could do the same with FireFox), you'll have to find a way to fix the problem. Somewhere in the php-script there must be something that links to this FaceBook widget; you simply have to force this piece of code to always use the same xid or you could use a workaround with, for instance, frames, where you put the code containing the widget is in a certain frame that doesn't change addresses, whether you're using only the domain-name or a URL including the document-name. I'm not an expert on Widgets, but the FaceBook comment-widget sees both URL's as different addresses (while they actually point to the same page). When you right click the widget and have a look at it's properties, you will see that one has a parameter-list like: [...]&xid=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.teetradio.com%252Findex.php[...] ...while the other has: [...]&xid=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.teetradio.com%252F[...] so both effectively have a different XID. I'm not sure how you can force the widget to use the same parameter-list for both "Addresses" (you could use frames to force it, for instance), but like I said, I never work with FaceBook (or widgets in general), so I can't be of real help here, sorry.
