  1. no no, you want it to hit YES, otherwise the driver wont install and no dtools
  2. i cant seem to get rid of that "Help Protect your PC" page. the only way i got rid of it was to use UnattendSwitch=Yes but i dont want to kill off oobe. i want the user to create his user account w/o having to get into administrator etc. i tried AutomaticUpdates=Yes in winnt.sif, and SkipAutoUpdate=1 in Oobeinfo.ini. neither worked. is there any way to get rid of this page? or is it merged into oobe?
  3. i figured out nlite is the cause of this problem. after splitstreaming w/ nlite, and immediatelly making an iso, i didnt have this problem. but if i continued w/ nlite and make it classic install etc, then i ran into this problem. maby someone might look into this and find out exactly why nlite makes tis happen?
  4. ewww a 900+ kB bitmap here i compressed it, so people on 56k can help yes thats EXACTLY what im getting now, cant get around it... no its not a glitch in sp2, (with dtools 3.46), it worked perfectly for me. now all of a sudden it doesnt....
  5. im trying to find out how i can change the default resolution before the Windows Welcome screen starts. i managed to disable the resolution change prompt (usually from 640x480 to 800x600) using oobeinfo.ini, under [startupOptions], ScreenResolutionCheck=0 that works, but then the windows welcome screen has scroll bars because the resolution is stuck @ 640x480. with and without ScreenResolutionCheck, i cant alter the initial resolution... i tried using [Display] in the winnt.sif file and it had no effect. anyone figured out how to do this?
  6. i finnaly found the reg tweak so it wont ask me if i want to windows update. but NOW it asks me to search for the driver (it finds it if i tell it to search..) WHY all of a sudden does it do this!?!? even doubleclicking the file will prompt me now. before (only adding a reg tweak), if i manually disabled windowsupdate driver search, it didnt prompt at all. now im confused.. if anyone knows how to solve this, plz tell us!
  7. no, taskill wont work. windows is just asking you if you want to let it download a better driver from windows update, which is a waste of time because you already have the driver. a registry tweak or a script would fix this
  8. no, i have the same problem, and i know whats causing it. i tried just installing dtools exe (not msi) and it did the same thing. so it was obviously a sp2 problem. the cause is that new option to install drivers from windows update. you have to make it NOT ask you (the top option) the middle option (always ask) is the default. all i need is the registry tweak so i dont have to do this manually, here ill post a screen so you know what im talking about
  9. im trying to make a semi-unattended xp installation (sp2 splitstreamed). everything goes perfectly fine, until this. it happens right before the user is prompted for a login name and the internet setup wizard w/ that animated ? in the blue circle (right after that Please Wait screen after the resolution fix). i discovered that msobshel.htm is the file that displays that. for some reason, its asking me to open, save, or cancle the file. i got a screen shot here incase it helps Pressing open would give me "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel." Clicking OK would halt my installation trying to save it and open it does the same. actually, doing anything wont help, the prompt is a signal for death so, anyone know how to get around this? maby something i messed up on in winnt.sif file?
