change resolution before guisetup mode

im trying to find out how i can change the default resolution before the Windows Welcome screen starts.

i managed to disable the resolution change prompt (usually from 640x480 to 800x600) using oobeinfo.ini, under [startupOptions], ScreenResolutionCheck=0

that works, but then the windows welcome screen has scroll bars because the resolution is stuck @ 640x480.

with and without ScreenResolutionCheck, i cant alter the initial resolution... i tried using [Display] in the winnt.sif file and it had no effect.

anyone figured out how to do this?

I don't beleive it can done unless you can rewrite the default vga driver to accomodate your needs and shoehorn them into your setup. syssetup.inf is signed by M$ and sets the default vga display setting used in that stage of setup. If someone nknows how this can worked around, I'd gladly pass it on to the masses.
