My logo in computer property is not visible, please help.
myselfidem replied to nice_guy75's topic in Customizing Windows
In fact, after some tests, I see that it's needed to change only one bitmap inside "shellbrd.dll": bitmap 1050 (size: 157x151)... If you want to keep the icons in Welcome Center Display; otherwise there are not shown! If you want edit the images, you can use GIMP 2.6.8; it's a very nice tool: http://download.cnet...4-10073935.html With only changing "bitmap 1050" and a customize "oemlogo.bmp": -
Here is my unattended installation with "spwizimg.dll" customized. Now, I understand that "spwizimg.dll" customize the unattended installation and "imageres.dll" can give you the possibility to add another image (or the same image, or keep the MS image) for the Logon screen (open and shutdown) for your unattended installation! Regards. Image: unattended install

Yes Max, I notice it's not complitely correct that I was thinking! When I use only "spwizimg.dll" custimized and the others images changed, I have the image MS for the Login and shutdown. But during the unattended installation I have my customized image. But not after for the Logon session! I notice, that the "imageres.dll" customize the Logon sceen and the shutdown. The "spwizimg.dll" customize the unattended installation and "imageres.dll" customize the Logon session. Also you can use another image for "imageres.dll" if you want. I can make a new folder French_7background_dlls.rar with this new image into "imageres.dll", if you want! Image with open and shutdown (Logon session) with "imageres.dll" customized: Image: start and shutdown screen

How to change windows 7 setup background.
myselfidem replied to yanghaijun's topic in Unattended Windows 7/Server 2008R2
You need also make others modifications: When you mount "boot.wim 2" for Windows, change the images setup.bmp and winpe.bmp inside "Windows\system32" by yours owns with the same size and the same name and the same image you've changed inside "spwizimg.dll" (517 - 518), also into: sources\background.bmp. Then unmount and commit boot.wim 2. You need to take full control for the file and these images. You can use another image for the logon screen (start and shutdown session) and change images 5031 to 5043 inside "imageres.dll" after mountrw install.wim 5 (Windows Ultimate)! For edit "spwizimg.dll" I use XN Resource, because Reshack don't work: http://www.downloads...esource-Editor/ And for edit "imageres.dll", I use Reshack, because XN Resource don't work! http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/ I hope that will help you. -
Oh sorry! I've made a mistake. Yes I like too this image img0.jpg I give you the good one French_7background_dlls.rar http://cid-d178ea021b182b88.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public/Se7en%5E_UA?lc=4108 No I think we don't really need to change the images 5031 to 5043 inside "imageres.dll", because when I install my Windows 7 only with "spwizimg.dll" changed I have the same result! Thank you. Regards.

You can also edit the file "shellbrd.dll" inside Windows\Branding\ShellBrd\ Edit bitmap: 1050 (size 157x151); 2050 (size: 196x189); 3050 (size: 236x227). You need to use an image .bmp (or convert an image in .bmp) with color depth 32, and with the same sizes. Mountrw install.wim and take full control before on the file "shellbrd.dll". Unmount /commit install.wim for save changing. Here is my example: -
Hello Max! I was working with the file "imageres.dll" because the size of the images were not good! This time I think it's OK, I resize all images in the dll and I've made a folder with alls files needed inside. If you want I can make a unique folder with only the dll's? Here is the link to download the folder: French_7background_dlls.rar: http://cid-d178ea021b182b88.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public/Se7en%5E_UA?view=details&lc=4108 Regards.
-
@MaxXPsoft Thank you ! I've made a customized "spwizimg.dll" and "imageres.dll" with another image you share in 7Background.rar. However, I can make news .dlls with the same image you give, and when it's done I tell you! I've spent a long time to customize the .dlls because it was the first time I try to do that! I can place the folders in my MSN SkyDrive and give you the link for download the new guide and the folder 7Background.rar, when it's done! Regards.
-
@MaxXPsoft At first, thank you very much for sharing your nice and good software and spending time to give us answers about ours difficulties. With Se7en_UA, I have an error with the folder "spwizimg.dll"; during the installation this one not match my Windows 7 version. I think [install.wim, 5] needs also the new "spwizimg.dll"! Maybe the reson is that the file "imageres.dll" is also in english and mine own contains a file in localized language (french)? However, I think the 7Backgroud.rar and dlls are working on an english version. I've made my own "spwizimg.dll" and "imageres.dll" and all is fine and I've installed Windows 7 with Se7en_UA6.2.0 successfully. I spent a long time!!! I am working on a new "Se7en_UA French guide n°2"; and add a new chapiter with an explaination on how to make the modifications. I post the new guide soon! Regards.

@Adadu Thanks, I appreciate. Yes, you need a clean Windows source (original DVD), unmodified! You can read the guide here: http://www.msfn.org/...-for-windows-7/ Extract: 4. Important notes for using 7Customizer: 6. It is highly recommended to use 7Customizer on an unmodified (clean, untouched .. etc) windows installation source. Regards.

@Adadu You can try to delete your source: "seven" and copy a new time. Also, see in the folder "7Customizer_0.4.0a\work" and deleete all the olds folders and keep only the files needeed: mount; bootorder.txt; etfsboot.com; EXTRACT.EXE Name your iso file with the same name of your source: seven.iso! And make the iso file on the same HDD you have your source Windows. I've tried the two methods succesfully. This example: Windows source and iso file on the same partion C:\ log.txt === 7Customizer Started=== 7Customizer verion: 0.4.0a 7Customizer path: D:\7Customizer_0.4.0a\7Customizer.exe Current directory: D:\7Customizer_0.4.0a OS: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7600.0 OS architecture: x86 Work folder found: True Mount folder found: True Extract utility found: True Configuration file found: True bootorder.txt file found: True Boot sector file found: True Elevated: True Getting drive info Free space: 20,8081283569336 GB Getting drive info: Done Saved Imagex path: C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\x86\imagex.exe Saved DISM path: C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\x86\Servicing\Dism.exe Saved odcdimg path: C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\x86\oscdimg.exe Windows source path selected Sources folder found install.wim found install.wim size: 2042 MB Added: "C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\x86\imagex.exe">work\testimagex.txt Testing imagex Imagex result begin: Imagex result file created. Could not find boot.wi in sources
myselfidem replied to Yesnovato's topic in Unattended Windows 7/Server 2008R2
Thank you Thanks. If you want to customize your Windows with a new Wallpaper, you can use "Setupcomplete.cmd" and add: This is an example, choose the name of the wallpaper, after the integartion with 7Customizer! REM SETTING WALLPAPER REG ADD "HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop" /v Wallpaper /t REG_SZ /d %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\TranscodedWallpaper.jpg /f REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\General" /v WallpaperSource /t REG_SZ /d %%systemroot%%\Web\Wallpaper\nebuleuse.jpg /f CMD /C Copy %%systemroot%%\Web\Wallpaper\nebuleuse.jpg %%userprofile%%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\TranscodedWallpaper.jpg If you make a folder named "Custom" and you put all the news Wallpapers inside, you must write, like this: REM SETTING WALLPAPER REG ADD "HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop" /v Wallpaper /t REG_SZ /d %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\TranscodedWallpaper.jpg /f REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\General" /v WallpaperSource /t REG_SZ /d %%systemroot%%\Web\Wallpaper\Custom\nebuleuse.jpg /f CMD /C Copy %%systemroot%%\Web\Wallpaper\Custom\nebuleuse.jpg %%userprofile%%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\TranscodedWallpaper.jpg -
Oh, well that's interesting then....because straight after an install of Windows, I checked the "Updates Installed" and it says I don't have any. When creating the image, the command prompt said the updates were integrated successfully. So I'm confused now. Yes, it's correct! You don't have any "Updates installed" with "windows Updates", at this time! But all the updates integrated are installed: you can see that in: Control Panel ¦ Programs and Features In the left pane, click on the View installed updates link. Windows Updates gives you the new updates after his looking into the computer and he see the updates installed and he gives you the new one needed. After that, you can see the new updates installed with Windows Updates, only! The updates integrated is another process and you can see the updates integrated in: Control Panel ¦ Programs and Features In the left pane, click on the View installed updates link. I hope that will help you!
-
@lenOx_ Yes it's correct! You don't need twice the updates! You can see the updates installed in: Control Panel ¦ Programs and Features In the left pane, click on the View installed updates link. Windows update is looking into your computer the updates needed and installed. The new one needed will be shown and installed. I use also 7Customizer and Sun VirtualBox. See attachment
-
@lenOx_ Can you see the updates you have integrated, as I show you in the attachment? I think there is two separates process. First, the updates integrated you have made and injected. Second process the updates downloaded with Windows Updates. If you try to dowload the new updates, they will be installed, if you have not disable Windows updates option. If my computer is not updated, I can see an error in the Virtual machine and I can't download the updates. If my computer is updated, I can download the new updates with the virtual machine. And after you can see the new updates installed with Windows update. Excuse my english, I do my best.
