  1. Even if this topic has any notability - this should be moved to Customization section. Over to moderators.
  2. He's got a point. If Win7 still nosy - do one thing... install Windows 7 on another partition again if you can afford (without removing this one - we'll perhaps need it for experiment, such a peculiar problem needs serious lookup). Then compare the performance difference & post it here.
  3. I agree with Ankle. Is is a real pain. Actually it runs well for some days, after that - it starts malfunctioning. Even sometimes it takes minutes just for the Adapters to be ready to set up a connection, otherwise even Hangs. I was the server & admin for the VPN of our hostel network - I faced it pretty badly. I do OS reinstalls frequently (once in a month at the VERY least) & had Vista & Linux as BackUp - so not affected by it too much, but I can guess the problem for regular users. ONE MORE THING : I'm Just curious, if anyone else feels that merging networks was better in Vista!

    Re-Slipstreaming

Well, I don't think Blunda would like that much techy answeres - He've made a (Slipstream+Unattended Install) before when XPSP3 launched & Now he wants to add some (add-ons I guess) programs to it. (Blunda, Rephrase me if I'm wrong) If above is allright - then 'NO' - you won't have to integrate SP3 again. Proceed directly to AddOn Hotfix section. ***But, if you've removed components from Windows Setup & want to have some of 'em back then, tough lick dude - you have to re-initiate with the Primary NonSP3 Source & have to slipstream it.
  5. No man, I installed "VirtualBox GuestAdditions " (that's what it's called) - & it works perfectly fine when it come to its other features. Also the component unremoved installer works fine. This problem caused only after the components were removed. Would this be a problem of Remove list OR nlite-VboX compatibility issue (with a certain component removed) I cant just figure that out. I mean, what could be reason that WORKGROUP is not shown (Vbox share folder comes later). Could you help ? Thanks.
  6. I didn't apply any tweaks or options etc. I first want a problemless Component removal - & thats what I'm testing right now. As of for 180MB - watchout for Language/keyboard/manual_install/help/tour etc removal. This is not meant to browse multilingual sites - will only be used for LAN party (with ability to browse english only sites) As I said, this is not previously nlited. This is applied over (a clean (WinXP 5.1.2600 Pro noSP + Manual Integration of SP3) + WMP11 Slipstream) & as of now no other system files or Catalogs removed or modified or misplaced manually or with tools. Thanks for watching the Session file & comment - I really appreciate it.
  7. You can try Installing windows by Disabling SATA, then after installing enable it & install driver. OR, Watch if these link Helps : http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/36/ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816299 AND/OR Sticky Topics for reference.
  8. I'll keep it in mind that it may cause problem with directx. As of other things, My windows is Highly stripped down (180 MB) with only ADDED thing is WMP11 & apart from this every thing is removed as much possible. If somebody can tell me about the DirectX cat/ca_ file names or naming conventions, I wont remove 'em. I'm testing this in VirtualBox (& I plan to use it heavily as a virtual OS mainly) so far it haven't come up with any driver/catalog related problem. But If anyone know how to give it a ACID test (if any prob may occur) - my thanks goes to him. I'm facing only problem right now, is network related, I'm posting my problem HERE IN THIS THREAD.
  9. Currently I'm facing a Network related problem - that is 'View WorkGroup Computer' resulting in hanging for some times & then resulting in a message that says "Workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission. The list of servers for workgroup is currently unavailable." It happens even when I'm accessing from Administrator account. I can't access my VirtualBox Shared folders. I have Microsoft peer-to-peer removed - might that cause the problem ? for more details about the removal list - Last Session.ini attached with the 1st post.
  10. Hmm, I had your problems otherwise. Anyway, Now I think got it. Here's where you wanna be 1st of all (to understand the things more effectively) >>> http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp Consult the REFERENCE section - for better grapple over the subject. Now, after you know how to add softwares other than slipstreaming, then you would like to have the .NET installer that suites you. http://download.ryanvm.net/files/dotnet11sp1.exe http://download.ryanvm.net/files/dotnet2.exe & the main RyanVM site link for your additional need >>> http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/ Now I think, you'll need 2 days to study, understand, implicate & get the things sorted
  11. Great ! That was real quick, thank you @5eraph !!! I was wondering if there would be any other things to do or not - you saved me browsing a lot for vain Moderators can now mark this Topic [sOLVED], really!
  12. Can anyone give me tips for [How To] safely remove Security Catalogs from Installer source of XP installation (either manually or with tools if any) I have disabled SFC already. What could be the long term risks (if any)?
  13. I guess you are working with Media Center edition, are you ? If you are stuck with Installing .NETfx1.1sp1, search for a one click (switchless) installer & add it as 1 T13 process. (YES, you CANT integrate .NET - just addon). If you have other softwares dependent on .NET then (even if they are integrable) you'll have to add them to RunOnceEX. If I'm closer to your problem, let us know - there's a pack of geeks waiting here to help you out.
  14. Thanks mate Ok, done. Just check out the 1st post. (Sometimes its a problem to think others n00b & simplify things unnecessarily ) Thanks for sharing, appreciate it. I'll take reference from it. One help needed, can you please tell me how to remove/delete previous posts - or only moderators can do that ?
  15. Thanks for the reply I think you are right and that's what creating the problem (false positive thing ) What I'm making is totally Stable (at least trying) - & until now the thing is quite cool (I've done the graybox & blackbox testing & everything's alright) What I'm asking is just an expert comment & a look up over the remove list so that there wouldn't be a faintest mistake! I'm not Stuck or Ripping off my hair - I'm just preparing for the cosmetic surgery for this thing & just wanna be sure that everything is alright (or something more can be removed or not) within that period. Tomorrow the Alpha will be released for testing on real PC (till now its only tested on Virtual Machine). If moderators are interested - I can write a full walk-through for this "WindowsXP : UberSlim 2010".
