  2. i was tyring to install hp desket series 3500 to an updated xp pro OS, yet i met two kinds of problems bothe when i tried to use "control panel""add hardwares" and the purchased software cd to install it: the system warned me to copy hpfmom.hlp file from c:\program files\hewlett-packard\hpz\glue\enu\drivers\com_lan. after editting this file myself, the process went on but asked for another file hpzr3208.dll,and asked for more files which were not contained on the cd. . i went to www.hp.com for support but found nothing cause this hp deskjet 3500 series was shold togethere with hp pc in a promotion in china. what's wrong? did anyone have the same experience? could anyone help me?
  3. i'd search for information on how to edit registry file in Dos command mode and then decide whether a reinstallation of xp is necessary! thanks again for your help!
  4. thanksf for all your kind help! question 1: i have a bootable 98 cd-rom and xp pro cd-rom as well. yet i'm a green hand and don't know how to edit the registry file in DOS command mode. anyway i'd like to ask how to use ghost.exe to back up the system! question 2: before doing any of this i've downloaded separately xp patches and sp1 to the hard drive used only for backing up files. if i restore to reinstalling xp,will these patches and sp1 be smoothly merged into xp if i chose to install them? it took me about 20 hours to update online the xp and i wish it won't come to a reinstallation of xp! now it's about 10pm in china and in case of re-installation i would have to plough through again the sufferings!
  5. that's it! i can't delete them. their contents contain ProductID and DigitalProductID and all the contents of the three keys are the same with this one: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\WPA\Key-G4XTBRDJMGP7G4WJTJK48 being the intrinsic, those different were added by myself! i wanted to delete the unwanted ones! that's my intention! one more question: i was trying to install printer hp3500 series, but the system couldn't be able to complete the installation. moreover,i found in "device maneger" "PnP BIOs extension" was disabled and tried to reinstall it, but failed given the message:the file was damaged! before doing this i'd completely removed Daemon tools from the pc. is PnP BIOs extension related to the incapability to install a printer? thanks!
