  3. No, I love it, however, I do not recommend it yet It has a few bugs, that just makes Longhorn unwanted. -Cannot download through IE -Black Buttons -Off-center Menus I even went to change my desktop, in the new gui'ed desktop properties wizard, and it said "This feature not available" However, you have to realize, that its not even in beta yet.

  7. I am in LongHorn, though very busy. I will tell you the low-down on the Build leaked to the public today. Longhorn XP Professional Build 3683.Lab06_N.020923-1821 It took over an hour to install. First of all, even though this OS was bootable on CD when I burnt it, it just would not do a fresh install. "Insert XP Pro disk" I created another partition and installed XP Pro. I then extracted the ISO to a folder on desktop. I opened setup.exe and began. It was much like XP, and never said Longhorn anywhere in installation. I was afraid. It would freeze in devices and registering components, but then somehow unfreeze. It was confusing! When it booted up, it saying Windows Freestyle, not longhorn. It then said do you want to activate, and I said no. I am now in it, connected to the internet installing new devices. A few features are missing from this build. I do not have a side bar with clock or anything, which was about the only feature I was interested in. I will post screenshots in a sec, and FthrJACK: PM me for the "info"

  23. At Comdex Fall 2002, NVIDIA will unveil the heir to the highly successful GeForce4 Ti line of graphics chips, which was in turn presented to the public in complete detail in February of this year. Now NVIDIA seems to be copying its main competitor ATi's modus operandi, presenting its new chip, dubbed GeForceFX and code-named NV30, in stages. At Comdex, NVIDIA will only be revealing details on the chip's technologies and features, which far surpass the DirectX 9 specification. There will not, however, be any concrete information on performance or the card versions that will be produced - not to mention testing samples. This makes it nigh on impossible to answer the big question everybody is asking and has been pondering for months now. Will the role of technology and performance leader revert from ATi, who captured it several months ago with its Radeon 9700 PRO, back to NVIDIA and its GeForceFX? I'd like to save up that question and its answer for the end of this article and cover the GeForceFX's new features and capabilities first. Source: Tom's Hardware Guide
