BootSkin Skin Install from RunOnceEx...?
-= Mancubus =- replied to Powerhouse's topic in Application Installs
Yeah, that's sounds very interesting... Until you encounter with an unability to boot after applying some fresh-new-downloaded cool bootskin. It is cured with booting in safe mode and turning back to default boot logo. That happened with me and a lot of people, as I read in forums. It seems, that this tool's got a problem with SP2 (or even SP1), and there wasn't new version for a looooong time. So, try it with a caution. -
Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal v5.0.325
-= Mancubus =- replied to Lost Soul's topic in Application Installs
You know, I failed to register this version while unattended install too, though I've got both .key and .yek files in the program's folder and they're being copied to a HDD as usual... Maybe they changed something regarding unattended setup in that version?... Should search on their forum. P.S. Besides, 6.0 beta is out ) -
Winnt.sif not recognized
-= Mancubus =- replied to onlygodknows's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
You really don't need to edit anything to get an auto-boot-and-run-setup CD, just follow the guide, find the final part where it tells how to build an ISO, download that ISO-maker (can't remember it's name) and it'll make all the work. It works perfectly for me. The winnt.sif needs only to be put in i386 folder, nothing else. Good luck! -
Michael Jackson Verdict to be announced
-= Mancubus =- replied to XPerties's topic in General Discussion
You guys simply can't accept idea of really loving kids. Yeah, the cases like "the baby in the window" are not explainable, but who know really what was going on? I am sure he is not guilty AT ALL. This family (mainly parents, I guess. No, sure.) was going to take as much money from him as possible. I am happy they failed. They event couldn't lie in one way... Well, as someone said above, it's over, and it is good. Besides, I've heard, that in USA no person can be charged for same thing second time if he was decided not to be guilty once. Is it really true? The media really did a lot of evil to MJ. Hope he will be OK. -

You should make auto-bootable CD, not run the winnt from the promt. Why such difficult methods? -
W98 Unattended +IE6+Updates (how to) my 2 cents
-= Mancubus =- replied to chon_'s topic in Windows 9x/ME
Really useful post. But one note - it's better to use (at least when posting) international names. I mean, not Copiar.Archivos, but Copy.Archives etc. But anyway, really thanks! -
I use Nero for complex writing and Small CD Writer for everyday use. Caution! It's in russian. Also like Sateira CD-DVD Burner. Image mounting with Alcohol.

I'm not sure about the switch. I make it that way - import reg file with something like this: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Opera Software] "Plugin Path"="C:\\Program Files\\Opera\\Program\\Plugins" "Last Directory3"="C:\\Program Files\\Opera" "Create Startmenu icons"="1" "Create Desktop icon"="1" "Create Quicklaunch icon"="1" "Last CommandLine v2"="C:\\Program Files\\Opera\\Opera.exe C:\\Program Files\\Opera\\Opera.exe\" " Check it ) Opera uses the directory specified and installs smoothly where you choose it to )

Register Opera,IrfanView, unattended of course ?
-= Mancubus =- replied to DarXyde's topic in Application Installs
Besides, I've found a way to install Opera silently in a folder by your choise. Well, maybe there's nothing special in it, but as I see, you install it in \Opera 8 beta, that is not very aesthetic, as for me So, here's the way - create .reg file with the content like this: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Opera Software] "Last Directory3"="C:\\Program Files\\Opera" "Create Startmenu icons"="1" "Create Desktop icon"="1" "Create Quicklaunch icon"="1" "Last Beta Directory"="C:\\Program Files\\Opera" The parameters are self-describing I import this file before installing Opera and voila! It installs in \Opera folder, not that foolish \Opera 8 beta or \Opera7. -

Could you be so kind to post an example here?

Register Opera,IrfanView, unattended of course ?
-= Mancubus =- replied to DarXyde's topic in Application Installs
Opera's registration info is stored in OUsr600.dat file, which is usually located in c:\Program Files\[Opera folder]\. Spent some time to search the info in Google, didn't find it and found out with file-monitoring tool while registering. -
Registry Tweak Editor
-= Mancubus =- replied to TheHealthyHippo's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Try this: XP Tweaker RE. It's completely free and is able to create .reg-file with the settings you've chosen. -
Can I automatically apply some bootskin while installing this? And I have read of and experienced myself some problems using BootSkin on SP2-ed XP, causing BSOD. What will you say?

Unpack Genius DSC 1.3-M "camera" driver

Thanks A LOT, Bashrat! Worked perfectly. I've played already with i6comp, but used an old version, and it extracted a mess. Cool -
Unpack Genius DSC 1.3-M "camera" driver
-= Mancubus =- replied to -= Mancubus =-'s topic in Device Drivers
You unpacked driver installer, not the driver itself. THAT is not a problem really :-) But thank you nevertheless. -
It is packed with Install Shield. Lies here. Tried some switches (found at installshield.com) to unpack it, but all of them failed. Tried also method, described by Bashrat here, it doesn't work also. But Intel's drivers are possible to extract, so why? Can somebody help?

Forceware 66.93 WHQL was integrated using nLite 0.99.7 beta. My video is integrated MX400 with 32MB shared memory. Monitor is LG Flatron ez T710PH. Its drivers were also integrated and successfully installed. Section [Display] in winnt.sif says: BitsPerPel=32 Xresolution=1024 YResolution=768 Vrefresh=100 These settings work for sure... though, maybe I remember wrong. After successfull Windows installaton there is only one problem: Despite above settings in winnt.sif Windows loads in 1024x768@100Hz@16BPP. If I try to choose 32BPP, applet lowers resolution to 800x600. Desirable settings are not choosable. I found a workout. If I go to nVidia logo-ed applet in Display settings, I can choose 1024x768@85Hz@32BPP. I remember, that with some version of Detonator/Forceware it was able to make 1024x768@100Hz@32BPP.... Maybe it is not possible with my video and monitor and my memory fails?

ganesh Regarding Daemon Tools Found it. It unpacks itself into your Temp directory after you run setup. Just find _something.msi sized 832000 bytes (that's for 3.46) and grab it )
-
ganesh - How did you get this daemon.msi? Did it unpacked itself into a Temp while installing?
