  1. No, ReForce doesn't work on Vista either. If you want to force a refresh for a specific resolution, you have to do it thru the video driver. ATI Tray Tools for Radeons and RivaTuner for Nvidia boards could help you on that.
  2. 1993 left the building a long time ago... perhaps it's time to refresh yourself with newer technology. I agree, but "Classic" is not "old" for some people, just "Classic". They have been using Classic Menu, for the last, I don't know, 13 or 14 years? Can you blame them for wanting the Classic Menu? It's the way they knew Windows and learned about Windows, and suddenly that's all going to change. Personally, I like the new Start Menu, but it needs a few options for adjustment. I want to see "All Programs" directly when I press the Windows key, and right now there's no way to do that...
  3. Well, I have to admit, now I'm a "Start Menu" convert. I usually used the Classic Menu, but I gave it a shot to Windows 7's menu. The result is that I'm now using the normal Start Menu in Vista. The Windows key plus two or three letters from the name of the program you want to execute is really good. BTW, I believe the Start menu could be disabled thru Group Policies, but I'm not sure...
  4. Is there a way to make Windows show the "All Programs" menu content directly when you enter the Start Menu? I'm quite comfortable with the "Windows key+typing" combo to run programs, but clicking the "All Programs" option is getting a bit annoying. Thanks in advance.
  5. Well, it's gonna be a bit hard for me to adapt. I mean, I've been using the Classic Menu for the last... 13 years I think. It will be tough, but not impossible.
  6. Amen to that. I'm using vLite in Vista but, I know W7 devs can bring this back. I have no problem with the existing Express install mode. If anyone wants to install W7 with a few clicks, that's perfect. But I want the "Custom" option to be "really custom", not the "Custom = full" we have seen so far. If they can bring the custom mode back in W7, well, that could be enough for me to pre-order...
