  1. hi you are right.. How do we run vcredist in winpe? or how do we add or give msvcr80.dll to winpe? also is msvcr80.dll needed only for projects built in VS2005 or is it independant of that.
  2. hi ppl, I have an sdk application that works in winpe32 but my application's 64 bit build is not loading atall in winpe2.1 64 bit. when i execute the exe it simply returns the command prompt. I used depends and added all needed dlls. any help is appreciated. thnks kararu.
  3. hi, i am in the same place where u were long ago... By any chance you remember how you made the 64 bit exe launch in winPE64. same 32 bit exe runs fine in winPE-32. I am giving all needed dlls along.but too the exe doesnt launch. thanks kararu.
  4. hi My .exe application doesnt hav any database...It runs fine in winPE 32 bit... But in WinPE 64 bit, it doesnot launch atall. It simply doesnot do anything. I copied all required dlls along with the exe.(by finding through depends). any inputs pls??? Thanks kararu.
  5. Hi ppl, My application runs in WinPE2.1-x86, but the same application's 64 bit build doesnt run in WinPE2.1-x64. Is there any size limitation in WinPE-64 bit OS. My application is 550KB. Is there any special project settings for making the application launch in WinPE-x64. (loading dll) I use runtime library:MT, Use of MFC:Use standard windows library, common language runtime support:No clr, DEP: default, Randomized base address:default etc. I use 'SDK for 2003' for building 64 bit application. Should I use 'SDK for 2008'. But a helloworld program built in SDK 2003 works in winPE2.1(VistaPE). thanks in advance Kararu.
  6. ppl ..moreover I just want to know if a windows vista driver will always install and work in WinPE2.0(vista PE). Or some drivers wont work just because it is a PE and not full OS. for example will any win2003 driver work in Win1.6(2003 PE). Whata the difference between win 2003 OS and WinPE-2003 in driver world. thanks. help GREATLY appreciated.
  7. yes i tried it out. it says it installs succesfully. But it is not initialising. devcon says device found. but driver is not running.error 37 (means driver routine entry was unsuccessful).. but how to find more about this? ppl surely share in your ideas.
  8. Hi, Thanks for the response. I dont have any other version of my driver. Its there only for win2003. While injecting into offline winPE2.0 image are we loding the driver fully? Even when it says success, are we not stable? With winPE2.0 we can deploy only Vista, or some other OS like win 2003 SP1,xp etc too? What about WinPE2.1 ? thanks kararu.
  9. hi ppl I added my ISM(ipmi sys mgmnt) driver to the offline winPE image (WAIK said 'peimg completed the operation succesfully') and now I have created a WinPE iso file. Does this mean WinPE supports my driver. Or will I know it only when using WinPE. thnks kararu.
  10. Hi ppl, I added my ISM(ipmi sys mgmnt) driver to the offline WinPE image (Windows AIK said 'peimg completed the operation succesfully') and now I have created a WinPE iso file. Does this mean WinPE supports my driver. Or will I know it only when using WinPE. thanks for any sort of help. kararu. Note: The driver I added is the one for windows 2003. (winPE version is 2.0 because I created it from WAIK). Is there any way of getting WinPE 1.6 (1.6 came from Win2003)
  11. thnks so much for the timely info.it helped me a lot.
  12. thnks ... I have downloaded WAIK which has winpe.wim files and waik.msi files. I plan install waik with the waik.msi in my current system and create winpe cd from that waik. Will that be possible. Is there any other direct way to create winpe cd.((will the windows image file (wim) directly burn a winpe image cd?) thanks kararu.
  13. Hi ppl, I saw in MSDN FAQ that only methods for getting winpe license is 1)volume license customer or 2)contact microsoft and when qualified software vendor. http://www.windowspe.com/ But wiki says we get free winpe from WAIK(windows automatic installation kit). any inputs on this please. thanks kararu.
  14. Hi ppl, I am just trying If I can load Ipmi System Management Driver (ISM) in WinPE. Is that supported or needs some porting? Any help is appreciated. thanks Kararu.
