  1. What did vLite remove if it's real?
  2. 1. Where is the x64 version? 2. Would vLite be modified to correctly slipstream SP2 soon?
  3. Where could non-MSDN subscribers download them? Wait for official announcement?
  4. Is there a way to manually integrate them into vLite's folder?
  5. I re-slipstreamed the driver after applying SP1. Still no detection of drives. My PC have 8G RAM. Could it be a problem?
  6. Motherboard: Asus M3N78 PRO Weird... I integrated the 2 folders sata_ide and sataraid (inside WinVista64) from the 15.26 64-bit driver for GeForce 8300 and then I burnt the ISO. When booted, no drive was detected. It's like the drivers were not integrated. Why?
  7. DO NOT make an un-attended DVD. You won't be able to use it for repair and recovery purposes. I have an Ultimate Upgrade DVD and had no problem slipstreaming SP1, drivers and hot-fixes into it.
  8. I believe PM merely set the of type of those NTFS partitions rather than doing something special or drastic. Which partition type then?
  9. I would like to hide 2 NTFS partitions from being detected by XP installation program, so that I could change the drive letter of the XP partition from J: to D:. Drive C: is Vi$ta. Yes, I am installing XP after Vi$ta (for some old projects). What are the best partition types (set via Linux fdisk) that could prevent WinXP installation program from seeing them?
  10. You need to be an MSDN subscriber to download it.... Is there an alternative link?
  11. I just re-installed my Vi$ta Ultimate x64 again. This time, I removed most drivers and some components (sample video & pictures, Defender, .... etc). The start-up speed is kind of back to normal.....
  12. Micro$oft is still way different from Linux. Anyway, I still bought Micro$oft $tuff. But I continue to address "S" as "$" for all USEFUL stuff from this company. You were quoting junk software ....
  13. OK. Will remember this on my next re-installation of Vi$ta. Heard that SP2 is coming....
  14. For my currently installed vLited Vi$ta, no driver was removed. I only slip-streamed SP1 and add Nvidia nForce 570Ultra's drivers (version 15.12 if I remember correctly).
  15. Window$ installed from slip-streamed CD/DVD really has a longer start-up time. It's slower than installing Window$ from the original CD/DVD and then applies hotfixes. Is it actually an expected behavior? Or is vLite/nLite inserted something? No... I don't think so, right?
  16. I got a feeling that Window$ installed from nLited or vLited DVD/CD was slower than un-Lited ones. Am I the only one having this feeling?
  17. Micro$oft stuff is never free... so S becomes $... very reasonable.
  18. Do NOT burn directly using vLite. Not so reliable when your system is busy... Make an ISO and then burn from the image.
  19. Do I need to keep the 1G Natural Language component in order to use text-to-speech? Could I just keep Speech Support?
  20. Indeed... consider some users might still be using 56k/33.6k dial-up modem to surf the net.... How long would it take for these snails to download this WAIK?
  21. Is it safe to remove it? What would be affected? I frankly doesn't need Vista to index the file systems for me as I SELDOM search all disks.....
  22. Do you have time to try the big 3 free, home-use virus-scanners (AntiVir Personal, AVG Free, and Avast Home)?

    Bluetooth

Found an old thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/Bluetooth-Periph...vi-t115157.html Only one question left: Would removing drivers components disable automatic driver download from Micro$oft?

    Bluetooth

I want remove as many drivers as possible to reduce the size of the ISO. Is Bluetooth classified as modem in the drivers component? Also, would removing drivers stop Vi$ta from downloading necessary drivers from Micro$oft after installation?
