  1. So the vLite folder is exactly the content of the DVD image, except the boot loader! It would be great if vLite could Create a UDF image directly... Right now, it only exports ISO...
  2. Must it be smaller than 4G? Could it be the size of a regular single-layer DVD, ie, 4.5G? And why is there such a limit? VFAT filesystem's limit?

    help for vlite

I believe it's just a typical OEM Vi$ta. You might find a OEM 32-bit Vi$ta torrent via Google and vLite it. http://www.google.com.hk/search?q=oem+vist...lient=firefox-a Just keep the Product Key of your notebok's Vi$ta.
  4. It's an internal soft modem. Number: -1 What else could I try?
  5. Would removing it stop Vi$ta from talking? I do like to keep the text-to-speech function. Speech-to-text can be out!
  6. Do you all remove it? Quite a huge package actually... If I removed it, any way to add it back after installation?
  7. Thanks. Could I remove Intel's storage drivers if I am using a Nvidia board?
  8. Is there a way in the user interface to remove old projects? vLite is as weird as Visual Studio 2008's project manager, that is, no project removal tool. I am using the following method to remove a project. 1. un-install vlite 2. browse to c:\program files x86\, remove the vlite folder. 3. re-install vlite, and restart the process. Am I doing stupid things?
  9. I removed all storage drivers in the component page, then integrated nForce 570Ultra's driver. I did it because I wanted to reduce the size of the DVD image to 4G after adding ALL hotfixes. When the resultant DVD booted up, it found no hard disk, only USB devices. It seems that I am not supposed to touch the storage driver section so as not to affect the installation program. Is this expected behavior??

    DriverMax

This should be the reason.... oops.... ouch....

    DriverMax

Well.... printer drivers not listed. Do I need to register first?

    DriverMax

I have an old HP Laserjet 5L printer. If I used DriverMax to export the driver files, could I delete all printer drivers (except Generic) and use vLite to integrate the exported HP5L files and expect the installed Vi$ta to print to the HP5L?
  13. Wait... is the 4G limit a result of WinPE/VFAT's limitation (in which the installation program run) or is it just a about the size of a single-layer DVD?
  14. Game center. Media Player. Browser. Messaging. Word Processing. Calculator.... I think the real problem is the increased size after applying SP1 and post-SP1 hotfixes. If I didn't applied SP1 or any hotfix and hit Apply changes, the DVD size was only 2.6G. Applying SP1, and the size of the DVD increased to 3.5G. Added post-SP1 hotfixes, 4.6G! Too bad I can't get rid of those Asian languages. Maybe I should kill Korean as I seldom visit their sites.
  15. I removed all printer drivers except HP, and some other useless drivers. That reduced the image to 4.1G. What else big could I remove? um....
  16. OS is Vi$ta Ultimate x64. I slip-streamed SP1, and then add all post-SP1 hotfixes to the image and integrated Nvidia chipset drivers. I build only one (Ultimate). The ISO image becomes 4.6G. How could I reduce the size to below 4G? What could be removed?
