In the SYSTEM32 folder there should be a file called 'OEMINFO.INI' If there isnt,make it using Notepad. ("SYSTEM" directory for 98)
Put the following lines in OEMINFO:
[General]
Manufacturer=(Type here without brackets)
Model=(Type here without brackets)
And thats it! What you typed will appear in the system properties page under "Computer"
To set a picture for the "Manufactured and Supported By:" section,move any picture ending in BMP to the SYSTEM32 folder,then name it "OEMLOGO.BMP". ("SYSTEM" directory for 98)

Your taking a chance though bud,my firewall blocks many port scans,etc.... Your letting them scan and who knows if and when they may try something!I use no firewall, no antivirus and have the browser open most of the time while being connected 24/7 and have had no idea what an infection is for years, with Win98SE.Win98se is one of the BEST os's out there and one mustnt do foolish things (Just in case)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

Yea i was trying to figure this out when i saw your post on Vdr about this....
Looks like IE7 is making room for spam ads but you have them blocked so all you see is that space.. (Thats what it seems to me)
Good luck my friend!

Yes the older versions of ZONEALARM are a must for newer OS's (XP,Vista) due to its OUTBOUND FILTERING!! (Newer version of ZA do not block outbound traffic (I wonder if M$ had a hand in that))

Totally stupid to run without a firewall!!Basically I am happy to use Windows 98 Second Edition on the internet without a firewall, but anything else newer you need a firewall.Anyone can get in if you dont have one!! (Why chance it with something as good as 98/98se?)
