  2. yeah, it looks good
  3. i've read that post many times and i cab the sp1 file but i didn't take care of the sfcfix.exe file, i just downloaded the already created dll and cab it. my mistake
  4. LOL, great job man i was searching for this a lot of time
  5. ...so you've come here because you hate your recycle bin on that ugly bottom-right corner... **** me too! that's why i thought: hey why just not remove it??!! i started working with regshot and after a few seconds i noticed that when you remove your recycle bin and the restore it, will be placed just as near to the top-left corner as it can use this to remove your recycle bin from your desktop [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}] if you just want to change its location then us this [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}] @="Recycle bin" related tweaks if you want to remove your recycle bin: ;Put Recycle Bin inside My Computer [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}] ;Allow renaming of Recycle Bin [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder] "Attributes"=hex:50,01,00,20 "CallForAttributes"=dword:00000000
  6. sometime ago i've read a guide on how to convert ps2 pads to pc, you need to buy an extension cable for ps2 pads, then after some changes you'll be able to connect it to the serial port but for force feedback to work you need extra power so blah blah blah... the easiest method it's to buy a ps2 pads converter for about $15/$20, i personally own 1 named "EMSUSB 2" that let me play with my 2 ps2 pads on my pc using the usb port. you can google but i don't recommend it because my force feedback function don't work very well dunno why also google for SmartJoy, PS-PC USB Converter III, PSX/N64 PC USB Adapter...
  7. i'm interested in that dfx rar-sfx for winamp...
  8. updates... movies mix planet of apes fountain of age toy swap
  9. check the link to the audio file. right click and copy the link. open new download on net transport and add your link, it will download a small size .ram file. open it with notepad, there will be stored the true link to the audio file, simply copy it and paste it on "new download" with net transport.
  10. that is because you probably don't have sp2 slipstreamed
  11. @Thermopyle hahaha , it's curious i thought the same when i started developing this guide. we got a few problems to bypass. pluginreg.dat file contains info with the path to some files so it's needed to make some changes, regkeys with paths, some temporal files, and my headache: chrome.rdf. this file contains the path to extensions, themes and so on and if the %username% changes, path, or systemdrive changes firefox would not start
  12. i'm sure you've read this a lot of times: "use the search button" [HOWTO] Adaptec ASPI Integration
  13. lovely wallpaper thanks @Wasim, i think he's not annoying anyone with this sign. that rule it's to prevent high bandwidth signs, and it's only 22,4kb. anyway you can disable to show any sign on your CP edit: new desktop thx Krezno,
  14. SP2 comes with WMP9 and DX9c slipstreamed. @Bruners, if you don't remove WMP9 from your cd before installing WMP10 you won't get that error
  15. in the example yes, but there are several methods and mine it's only one of them. @Thermopyle, i've got to correct you guy what is going to be released this month it's RC1, far from the final version on october, 11. you know that if we wait for software releases we couldn't just record a CD, because everyday appears a new version. i don't know about the new installation way but it's very probably (i think about 90%) that it will use the same installer and this guide will work with the new version too. if that it's not the fact, the guide will be updated with new changes
  16. diabling the security center does not disable the windows firewall, only the security gui. to be sure go to control panel>firewall and check its settings
  17. i agree, and probably in the final version this issue will be solved.
  18. give us more things to work, i suppose your using a gecko based browser like mozilla or firefox, don't you? if it's firefox going to tools>options, general tab will let you change the start webpage, change to something like about:blank or about:mozilla
  19. @Krezno if you want the people to know your work you have to upload your work on other big sites, or that it's what i do anyway very good job man i really like it, specially the one called "Black K-OSX". i was searching for a theme like this for many places as @knewman01 suggested where can i find a matching wallpaper for "storm"
  20. thanks guy but be aware... if you try firefox i'm sure you won't return to IE
  21. yes, it's an old known site it's not updated frecuently and because of that all the dlls you can download are primary sp1 versions
  22. A1: for CD.TXT you can read this that will explains better than me http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/runonceex_cd.htm A2: your firefox.exe in the example goes to %CDROM%\SOFTWARE\FIREFOX\FIREFOX.EXE (where CDROM it's the root of your windows intallation CD) A3: **** no! , this guide it's intended to be user, path, drive and language dependant. ps: i haven't forgot the step2 part but still having issues
  23. well, i'm having problem with this guys. there are many threads that talk about this but none specify how to make it work under an unattended installation sucesfully. i own a conceptronic usb bluetooth device to transfer files with my mobile phone (t610). installation was simple with xp versions before sp2. it uses a .msi installer, running the it with the "/qb" switch worked: installation complete without prompts, drivers were installed sucesfully, the explorer shell extensions were added with no problems and so on... i tried the same installation (that was ran from cmdlines sucesfully before) with sp2, after a short of time, a new system properties window popups with the "Hardware" tab selected (!?) . I tried running the installation from RunOnceEX, removing "Search internet for drivers" prompt and removing native SP2 bluetooth support with nLite and still didn't work after installation it's finished the "My Bluetooth Places" icon it's displayed on the desktop. finally the installation it's tested on M$ virtual pc as before, i haven't had the oportunity to use a "real" pc yet. anyone having the same problem solved it (unattended)?
  24. it's a RC (release candidate) version so it's not final and i preffer at the moment to not upgrade, maybe browser like opera or mozilla/firefox could have problems...
