  1. All you need to do is right click on your desktop and click "properties". This will open up the display properties. From there click on the "Screensaver" tab and then click the "power" button near the bottom. Then on the "APM" tab, click "Enable Advanced Power Management Support". Click "apply" and you're done. SP3 RTM 5512

I have tested SP3 RTM 5512 quite a few times with no problems, so far. The only USB devices I have tested with it so far is my Microsoft USB mouse and Linksys WUSB54GC wirelessG USB adapter.
  3. Nlite will only make the changes you want it to change. If all you would like to do is slipstream SP3 and add your Reg number then when you get to the "task selection" in Nlite, choose "service pack" and "unattended". Click next and you can slipstream SP3. When that is done click next and you can add your Reg number. From there make a bootable ISO and burn it to CD.

    Adding files

Here is a link to MSFN's Unattended Windows guide. It has very good information to answer all your questions. MSFN's Unattended Windows
  5. You can copy the contents of your disc to a folder on your computer (I use C:\XP) and then copy and paste the logonui.exe file to your system32 folder in your XP folder. From there you can use Nlite to make a bootable ISO image to burn to a CD.
  6. I tried to install the same update today. I tried it through Windows update and also tried to download it and install it that way. It failed either way. I'm thinking that this update is for SP2 and earlier versions of SP3 and not for the RTM version of SP3. It's possible that this update is already in the RTM version of SP3 and Microsoft update site is detecting the RTM version as an earlier version.
