  1. Hello, I've made my own decision that I'm going to leave the forum, I've never helped much here but it was fun time being here when I could. Good Bye MSFN.
  2. I thought it wasn't safe at all to install any update in newer versions of Windows?, I use a custom version of Windows 8.1 and I don't think updates will work, It will probably just break it since I removed most of the metro apps and services using winreducer.
  3. looks like I made a mistake running Windows Server 2012, Firefox seems slow on it, Adobe Premiere CC is faster but slow occassionally more on server, most things are the same like Windows 8.1 on Server 2012 nothing better, I'll have to find another version of Windows to run. P.S. sorry for getting off task of the forum questions.
  4. I used the PerformanceTest 8.0 software on my copy of Microsoft Windows Server 2012It appears I got a Passmark rating of 588.0 and a 2D graphics mark of 246.6. Looks like I was wrong as it just seems fast because most of the performance features are turned of in Windows Server versions.
  5. I tried Windows Server 2012 again, and I'm amazed by how faster it is compared to Windows 8 or 8.1, Adobe Premiere CC 2013 works, its a tad bit slow when moving clips arounds but it is fast, weird I ran this years ago and never noticed this then again I never installed the right video and audio codecs back then I'm guessing now. I think I will keep it and never update it as it's not safe anymore.
  6. Thank you OneSerendipity for the great advice, I now know what I want to run thanks to you.
  7. I noticed the same thing, I noticed some things in Windows 8 were faster then they were in Windows 8.1.
  8. Ah thats very intresting OneSerndipity, I did'nt know about the support would be supported still after 2020 and the other things you said. Actually I even considered Windows Server 2012 or 2012 R2 but Adobe Premiere CC 2013 is quite slow on it, I remember doing that years ago.
  9. I would consider going back to Windows 7, but I worry about that Windows 7 only has 4 years of support. Windows 8.1 and 8 is still very customizable as Ive done it for a few years now.
  10. Good customization 2008WindowsVista, I like it!.
  11. Augh never mind, my display drive is not supported on Windows 10 (ATI Radeon HD 4200) It's to old to run Windows 10, It was working and it crashed to my second monitor telling me to find a driver on Windows Update which I never could find and there is no newer driver at AMD's website either, last supported with Windows 8.0.
  12. Im giving up now, I ran Windows 10 and it seemed quite fast and ran pretty good and I used those apps to stop Microsoft from communicating. Its just like someone here said here its time to change I cannot keep running a old operating system. Im considering running thr LTSB version of Windows 10 in the future.
  13. I found this for the lifecycle support of the Microsoft website about all versions of Windows 10 (including Enterprise and LTSB versions), I thought it was intresting though maybe it won't be intresting as maybe people already know this?. • Updates are cumulative, with each update built upon all of the updates that preceded it. A device needs to install the latest update to remain supported. • Updates may include new features, fixes (security and/or non-security), or a combination of both. Not all features in an update will work on all devices. • A device may not be able to receive updates if the device hardware is incompatible, lacking current drivers, or otherwise outside of the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (“OEM”) support period. • Update availability may vary, for example by country, region, network connectivity, mobile operator (e.g., for cellular-capable devices), or hardware capabilities (including, e.g., free disk space).
  14. Wow I would love to know how you did that too, I run Windows 8.1 (with many things I removed) I love the look of Windows Vista on modern systems.
  15. My ATI Catalyst software keeps telling me that my operating system is not supported. Several years ago when I tried Windows Server 2012/2012 R2 this same thing happened. P.S. the good news my display driver works anyway.
  16. Then what's the point of running Windows any more if there is so many connections going back and forth, Its boring doing this all the time since I reinstall so much. And if Windows 7 and Windows 8 are not even safe what can any individual do expect run software that stops connections and various privacy options so there turned off.
  17. Ah thats good to know I'm glad I can still be safe, I should mention its my only legit copy I own of Windows to use. (besides owning Windows 2000 Pro, Windows Home Server and Home Server 2011 that I never use.)
  18. I'm stuck with running Windows 8.1 again, augh.. I will never be safe.
  19. I did the same thing when I ran Windows XP x64 several years ago, I followed a guide online to run iTunes that was only supported at the time for Windows Vista to run on Windows XP x64 using Orca MSI Editor and it worked.
  20. When was Microsofts last professional software made? as NoelC said on a previous post.
  21. What about Linux? Couldn't that be an alternative?
  22. Is Windows 7 without SP1 any faster then with it?, I'm trying it out and It feels a bit faster? not sure if there is a difference.
  23. Ah Thank you JorgeA, I'm going back to Windows 7 now.
