Ok well things are different in 9.3 (atleast in vmware), cursors working good, Local security policy good, even IE is good, not to forget wordpad working cool... What else..... only the missing updates on the ms site is a mystery... who can look into this.. Anyone else using xpcreate BEFORE nLite please can u confirm some things with me ?? Bye, Jazz

Hmm well i dont think u checked my log file attached to the post, cuz in it u'd see that although i've not selected the Cursors to be removed, they're still removed as somehow there into the Accebility options !!! and the same is happenin to 9.3 as well.... Also, i dint even select anything regarding wmi or terminal services, cuz i very well know they give problems, look at my log file... Also, i'm using the very same i386 processed by xpcreate that i was using since beta 2, so i dont think now it gonna be any problem.. And well i still have the vmware image on which i installed this xp, and it was working fine... i'll try to arrange for some sscreenies as my pc stabilises.. Regarding the hotfixes, i'm yet tryin to figure it out... dunno why is it acting up, probably i'm removing some components UPDATED by the hotfix after integrating them... like for eg, i update the orig sources ti use latest wmp, then i remove the wmp from nLite, probably that can be one problem ! I'll still try to figure it out though... nways will keep ya posted.. Bye, Jazz PS :- i think that u should make the log file a bit more discreet, like it does make a file list, but i think it should also list the files that it deletes, so we actually know if theres a BOOBOO

Ohh, man Ok a DISASTER.... i think i spoke too soon in my previous posts... Ok the bugs are as follows :- 1. IE installed, but its hidded with the +s and +h attributes, so although the IE shortcut is im my startpanel, it takes me to internet properties window 2. Although i dint select the cursors to be removed, all the cursors were removed, man wass happenin ?? and the funny part is that i tested the SAME iso in vmware before i deleted my main OS, so wass this ?? very phunny ! 3. Ok, have to agree with Zulu, i dint select wordpad for removal, but the **** thing removed it, funyy thing was that wordpad.inf was still there.. 4. OK, so far everything easy to understand and tolerate, now the MORE buggys things, I cant set the firewall properties cuzz on the page in which the fw thingy appears, it says.. "Windows cannot display the properties of this connection. The WMI information maybe corrupted. To correct this, use System restore to restore windows to an earlier state, blah blah blah" man, this is s***... cant believe this, nothing of this sort happened in my vmware intallation !! 5. OMG this is gonna blow u off... i cant open the Local serurity snapin in Administrative Tools, gives the error "Snapin Failed to initilaize. name unknown, clsid <some big text with numbers>" Then when i press OK, it comes Snapin creation failed again...... Man, all this happened to my main primary OS... i'm wreked Please suggest me, somethin !! if atleast i can get the 4, and 5th error rectified in my current instal, i atleast wont have to reinstall evrything... The most annoying thing that happened to me was that, i accedentaly deleted my past 3years of emails , duh, i know this is not nlites fault, but its just my luck incompatibility issues with my stars..... Umm i dunno what zulu is talking abt the IE,wordpad and defrag errors, cuz i chose NOT to remove them and then they work all fine !! note, i checked this in vmware, but based on that i'm gonna format my primary os and reinstall everything !! OK, i'm not doin this only for the testing.., i'm doin this for my dignity What happened is that my pals got a below 1ghz pc and they all installed xp from my unattended cd, and OH boy their xp FLIES !!! and me, umm i installed it 2 yrs ago and am still dragging it to eternity.. The xp has become soo sloowww that everybody asks me to update my pc specs, man i just hate that.. i got a 2.4B p4, 512 DDR 333 ram and 120 7200 hdd, still xp runs like a DOG ! So, enuff is enuff.. i was eventually waiting for sp2, but i cant handle it no more.. Yep nuhi, i checked it out once again... the reduction is not as much as it used to be.... I think u should recheck the new driver compression technique, maybe thats a reason or something ? Anyways i'll try the next version and let ya know if it stiil is the same.. BYe, Jazz

Hi, many times it has happened that the ppl i install windows for already have a key of their own (legit) ofcource.. so wht then i have to do is change the registry and re run oobe, what i was thinking was that can there be an option to reset the activation on demand so that after installation it asks us ehether to enter our orignal key... But there a catch with this, i'v encountered many legit keys that wont work with my installed sources, i dunno if its retail or vlk or what ever, so that becomes a real problem sometimes.... So, what i want is that i give the user to enter his key, but if that fails... then i renter my current registration info again, so it still works... Anyone got any ideas how to do this ? BYe, Jazz

is it just me , or what ? but after removing the same components with beta 9 (infact i even removed the extra scsi drivers) Nlite removed only 113 mb where as previously it used to remove atleast 121 mb.. ? Can someone confirm this ?? My selected.ini :- selected.ini selected.ini

Hmm, cool... so now will the cursor schemes remain too ?? and one more thing. If i remove the scsi thingy from the bootup, how does that affect me if suppose i wanna install it to a scsi disk ? Ok well i'm really goin crazy trying to make these DARN visual settings work for me... REALLY ! Ok now all that i ask for is to set the visual effects to custom and select only the LAST 4 effects in the effects tab, and disable all the rest, now i'm **** sure that this cant be achieved thru registry... Well ok guys.. after doin all the slipstreaming, integration, reducing the size, adding things to regkeyonce .. appling all the registry entries i cud think of.. its finally a time to give the windows setup a touch of DIVINE feeling, well almost So, what i have here is known as Matrix XP (some of ya must have already guessed but anyways, for those who havent read on) Ok the first thing to do is apply the Matrix winntbbu.dll to the setup this wud give it a matrixised look at the Setup screen.. Then We change the default luna.theme to apply the matrix wallpaper, the Green olive colour scheme and the great matrix screen saver .. Well oh well how can we forget the Matrix Logon screen (logonui.exe) last but not the least i've been searching high and low for a good matrix Bootscreen but havent been able to find one.. if any of the great souls here can help me get it i'd be very greatful... Ok i'm gonna attach some screenies and give the link to all the above mentioned files in one rar.. Well! People won't stop, of course, untill it works fine. I didn't know that the previous release crashes! This is a newly reported bug. If there are four shortcuts to uninstall Winamp, error messages show on my desktop when I wanted to listen to Shakira , launch link didn't work, library needs to be deleted, MSP file fix, and ...., then what works? Exactly, i got the same problem... some of the files are usrvoica.(something) and usr(somethingss) i'll get u the exact file name if u want.. Its nit that they give an error or something.. but the copy process takes a lot longer on these files.. dunno why ? and ya i've even tried that on a real pc so i know for real the bug is persistent.. but its not a priority now.. so it can wait BYe, Jazz
