How important is the numerical order in scvpack?
koden replied to koden's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Okay. But this 3 hotfixes is not the ones that can't be installed from svcpack.inf -
I have made my unattended CD now, but I can't get this 3 on my pc. After the inst. and running win update this tree are missing (and the two from hotfixes.cmd). KB831167 KB840374 814078 All the other hotfixes are there. I have also a problem with the 2 hotfixes in my hotfixes.cmd. But I have another tread with that problem. here is my svcpack: [Version] Signature="$Windows NT$" MajorVersion=5 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=2600 [setupData] CatalogSubDir="\i386\Update" [ProductCatalogsToInstall] [setupHotfixesToRun] Q819696.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB823182.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB824105.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB824141.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB825119.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB826939.exe /Q /O /N /Z Q828026.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB828035.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB828741.exe /Q /O /N /Z Q831167.exe /Q:A /R:N Q832894.exe /Q:A /R:N KB833330.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB835732.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB837001.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB837009.exe /Q:A /R:N KB840374.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB841720.exe /Q:A /R:N js56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N ALCXWDM.exe /Q:A /R:N vbs56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N qchain.exe My files in the update folder match those above exactly, but the files are in the update folder in no specific order. The are just there.....

YES..my unattended CD with updates works..BUT?
koden replied to koden's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Thanks... I will try this :-) 1. But point 3 i'm not sure my files (i386 and so) are in this root: C:\WINXP\XPCD\I386 Is this then the right path? : [GuiRunOnce] %systemdrive%\WINXP\XPCD\install\hotfixes\hotfixes.cmd 2. The sasser update comes up with af boks "no viruses found" I have to click ok. How do i skip this ok boks, so my inst. won't stop there ?? Thanks -
1. In the installation it says " can't copy file agentanm.dll" I just skip that and it goes on installing. 2. When I'm finished it says that it can't fin C:\install\hotfixes\hotfixes.cmd Is that why my path is C:\WINXP\XPCD\$OEM$\$1\Install\hotfixes ??? Do I just have to put this path %systemdrive%\WINXP\install\ in my sif file under this point [GuiRunOnce] %systemdrive%\install\hotfixes\hotfixes.cmd 3. I would like to install one of the driver MS recomends in winupdate. But when I get this update down, it's a winzip file. Where do i put this? Not in my update folder or what? Thanks

What's wrong with my sig and cmd file?
koden replied to koden's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I can now confirm that I am stupid :-) My problem all the time is taht i have burned the wrong i386 folder. I have been used another guide before MSFN, and have made some folders there. So I will try again.... Thank you for your help... Later this day: Now it's working with some small problems. New tread about this new problems :-) -
Maybe the program alchohol 120% is something for you. Put all your disk into the computer. www.alcohol-software.com I use for a game called SIMS, that has about 8 disks. I never use the disks anymore.

What's wrong with my sig and cmd file?
koden replied to koden's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
maybe i'm stupid :-) But where do I find "Addiging Hotfixes and Current Hotfixes" page at MSFN or Greenmachine? yes step 5 I will ignore for now. -
What's wrong with my sig and cmd file?
koden replied to koden's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Of course... :-) But it should not have anything to do with my problem about installing hotfixes, that the driver is missing? I now have the xpcreate. Where do I check this: "NTFS file system with 8.3 File Name Creation enabled. " And is there a better guide than this. I don't understand what to do.. I do understand to edit xpcreate.ini, put my XP CD in D drive and my RW disk in E drive. but how do the xpcreate get hotfixes and SP1?? So it seems to be 4 and 5 I don't understand. maybe because it's in english and I'm danish :-)) Thanks Carsten 2. Extract the contents of the downloaded XPCREATE.ZIP file to a new directory of your choice. 3. Edit the XPCREATE.INI file to reflect your system parameters. This may be edited in Notepad, or any text editor. Instructions may be found inside the file. 4. Refer to the Adding Hotfixes and Current Hotfixes pages to populate the SVC* and SPACKS directories. 5. Add your User specific files and directory structure, such as $OEM$, $OEM$\$$, $OEM$\$1\DRIVERS, $OEM$\I386\WINNIT.SIF and $OEM$\CMDLINES.TXT to the FILESCD directory, to be merged with the distribution files at CD Creation. 6. Place your original Windows XP CD into your CD-ROM drive. If you have a separate CD burner, you can also place a blank CD into it now as well. 7. Start XPCREATE by double-clicking XPCREATE.CMD in the directory you extracted it to previously. 8. XPCREATE will then merge, mix and mash all the files, and create an ISO file of the CD image. If a CD-R is in the CD burner, XPCREATE will attempt to burn the ISO image to CD. -

I now have a RW disk and I have burned it again. It looks like that it doesn't get the sif file, because the 1024x768 is also not working. It's starting up in 800x600 The SP1 is okay, so the slipstreamed part is okay. The sif file is in my i386 folder, and is made whit Deploy tool. I put the CD in my laptop. Start from CD. delete all partions and format the new partition and install NTSF XP from the CD. next time I have to do anything is when it ask for set up the time and after this set up XP with user and all that. restart and Finished. It's a IBM T40 and the funny thing is, that it can't find a driver for my ethernet card. I have to put this in after the inst. When I get the sif file to work, I will put the driver on the CD. My sif file is here: ;SetupMgrTag[Data] AutoPartition=1 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" OemSkipEula=Yes [unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemPreinstall=No TargetPath=\WINDOWS OemSkipEula=Yes [GuiUnattended] EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=1 AdminPassword=* TimeZone=105 OemSkipWelcome=1 [userData] ProductKey=secret :-) FullName="Navn" OrgName="" ComputerName=Minpc [TapiLocation] CountryCode=45 Dialing=Tone [identification] JoinWorkgroup=WORKGROUP [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes [GuiRunOnce]%systemdrive%\install\hotfixes\hotfixes.cmd [Display] Xresolution=1024 YResolution=768 [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=2,1 Language=00000406 [branding] BrandIEUsingUnattended=Yes [url] Home_Page=www.wa.dk Search_Page=www.google.com [Proxy] Proxy_Enable=0 Use_Same_Proxy=0 -

thats all right. I'm very pleased that someone wants to help me. I'm danish so im sorry about spelling and so :-) yes I think I have a driver and something not critical in my update folder. The Q831167 and Q828026 is not in my update folder from windows update. Don't no why.....??? I have just been edit my svcpack file so it match my update folder. What is the Q831167 and Q828026 good for?? I can try to install it as it looks now and then run win update. It will then tell me if I'm missing some hotfix.
-
I have been readen the tread many times :-) But I still don't understand that the svcpack file from the guide look like this: Some of the files I don't have and some of my files he don't have??? [setupHotfixesToRun] Q330994.exe /Q:A /R:N JS56NEN.exe /Q:A /R:N mdac.cmd Q823182.exe /Q /N /Z /O Q824105.exe /Q /N /Z /O Q824141.exe /Q /N /Z /O Q825119.exe /Q /N /Z /O Q826939.exe /Q /N /Z /O Q828028.exe /Q /N /Z /O Q828035.exe /Q /N /Z /O Q832894.exe /Q:A /R:N WMP9MM2.exe Q828026.exe /Q /N /Z /O qchain.exe DX9NTopk.exe the Q828026 is not nummeric?? My svcpack file is now like this and I think it's now okay?? But I'm still not sure about this tree files: js56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N ALCXWDM.exe /Q:A /R:N vbs56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N This is my new svcpack file: [setupHotfixesToRun] Q819696.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB823182.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB824105.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB824141.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB825119.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB826939.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB828035.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB828741.exe /Q /O /N /Z Q832483.exe /Q:A /R:N Q832894.exe /Q:A /R:N KB833330.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB835732.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB837001.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB837009.exe /Q:A /R:N KB841720.exe /Q:A /R:N js56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N ALCXWDM.exe /Q:A /R:N vbs56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N qchain.exe
-
Okay. But my svcpack file has to have the exact names of the hotfixes? So I also have to remove q and kb there? Or I can just set them numerical and don't look at q and kb :-)) What about: js56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N ALCXWDM.exe /Q:A /R:N vbs56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N
-
http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/installhotfixes.htm The entries shown in [setupHotfixesToRun] are just an example. All the hotfixes you have downloaded, renamed and copied to the Update folder should be added under this section in svcpack.inf in numerical order. The images below will help to know what syntax should be used: My svcpack file is here. Should Q or KB come first and then nummeric after this? What about the tree files that is not Q or KB?: [Version] Signature="$Windows NT$" MajorVersion=5 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=2600 [setupData] CatalogSubDir="\i386\Update" [ProductCatalogsToInstall] [setupHotfixesToRun] Q832894.exe /Q:A /R:N Q832483.exe /Q:A /R:N Q819696.exe /Q /O /N /Z Q828026.exe /Q /O /N /Z js56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N ALCXWDM.exe /Q:A /R:N vbs56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N KB837009.exe /Q:A /R:N KB817787.exe /Q:A /R:N KB824105.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB826939.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB835732.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB833330.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB824141.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB828035.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB837001.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB841720.exe /Q:A /R:N KB823182.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB825119.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB828741.exe /Q /O /N /Z qchain.exe

Hotfixes For Windows XP Professional SP1
koden replied to Aaron's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I have made my svcpack.inf file It's somewhere under this text. BUT... 1. I have in my update folder 20 hotfixes. 17 is q or kb things. The last 3 is this js56nda in folder com_microsoft.Jscript_ win2K_XP_56_6003 vbs56nda in folder Q318089 ALCXWDM in folder com_microsoft.KB833846_audio_driver_wxp what do I do with those 3? (aha...going back this tread I can see that this 3 has to be in also:-) 2. in numerical order? How is that? q hotfixes first and kb last and all in nummeric orders with high numbers last? 3. The differens between type 1 and 2 hotfix, is that the file type, and has nothing with KB og Q to do? 4. Qchain exe must be extracted to update folder. But where in the update fplder? My qchain is first in the update folder with the WU folder. 5. My hotfixes has all its own folder. Do I have to take hotfixes out of thoose folders and place them in the update folder? I'm danish and it's a danish version, if that meens anything :-) Sorry about my spelling and writing english.... [Version] Signature="$Windows NT$" MajorVersion=5 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=2600 [setupData] CatalogSubDir="\i386\Update" [ProductCatalogsToInstall] [setupHotfixesToRun] Q832894.exe /Q:A /R:N Q832483.exe /Q:A /R:N Q819696.exe /Q /O /N /Z Q828026.exe /Q /O /N /Z js56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N ALCXWDM.exe /Q:A /R:N vbs56nda.exe /Q:A /R:N KB837009.exe /Q:A /R:N KB817787.exe /Q:A /R:N KB824105.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB826939.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB835732.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB833330.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB824141.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB828035.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB837001.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB841720.exe /Q:A /R:N KB823182.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB825119.exe /Q /O /N /Z KB828741.exe /Q /O /N /Z qchain.exe -
But I'm still not sure where to put the officexp.cmd file Which folder do I put it in? The C:\OfficeXP\XPCD\$OEM$\$1\install folder ?? What du you meen with this: in notepad and save it as OfficeXP.cmd and execute it from [GuiRunOnce] Do you mean that I in winnt.sif has to insert %systemdrive%\install\officexp.cmd under [GuiRunOnce] Thanks

Hotfixes For Windows XP Professional SP1
koden replied to Aaron's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I have win XP with SP1. I need the hotfixes after SP1 But I find it a little bit difficult to understand which updates I need??? If i go to this site: http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/da/default.asp choose to the left "windows update katalog" choose "Søg efter opdateringer til Microsoft Windows-operativsystemer" choose "windows xp prof SP1" og klik søg I surpose that the 10 and the 6 updates is what I need to have a complete updatet win XP? But when I download this, the Q numbers does'nt look like the ones, in this guide. There is also this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=da a packet with updtes after SP1 until october 2003. Can I put this in my UPDATE folder just like other updates? But then i still need thoose after october 2003. -
Hmmmm.... i think i don't need this installation wizard. I have not choosen anything. I can just stop after the 2 section. There I have my slipstreamed CD with SP3 updates. Thats enough for me. Thank you for your patience
-
sorry.. I feel a little bit stupid :-) I burn a CD (it has to be boot, as in unattended WINXP?) that has the content of C:\OfficeXP\XPCD\$OEM$\$1\install\Aplications\OfficeXP which is files install instmsiw owc10 readme autorun instmsi officexp.cmd (the cmd file I have made) pro.msi unattended.msi (the file I have made with ressource kit). When I then install this CD on a pc, then the cmd file will be executed???
-
hmmm.. it still doesnt work. The cmd file can't find the file. But isn't it wrong this path: start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\OfficeXP\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=Unattended.MST /qb- My path is: C:\OfficeXP\XPCD\$OEM$\$1\install\Aplications\OfficeXP
-
okay. Make af cmd file save it with my mst file an run it. but in the danish version setup is called install, so it must be this: ECHO. ECHO Installing Office XP Professional with Frontpage ECHO Please wait... start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\OfficeXP\install.exe TRANSFORMS=Unattended.MST /qb- Then I'm finished I surpose and I can burn my office CD with updates and the self installing mst file???
-
in section 4 i have to add ECHO. ECHO Installing Office XP Professional with Frontpage ECHO Please wait... start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\OfficeXP\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=Unattended.MST /qb- to my batch file. But wich bat file is that?? The unattended.mst file??
