  1. Hi guys, I tried to enable hibernation on one of my vista machines. I issued a "powercfg -h on" command but got an error instead. Please refer to the screenshot for the error message. How do i solve this ?? Thanks

  3. Hi Under the vista start menu, i can see shortcuts to music, pictures, saved game, documents and the user folder. Is there anyway to add the "Downloads" in the user folder shortcut to the start menu? Thanks
  4. normally it should be in the i386 folder of winxp cd... to expand, go to cmd, go to the i386 folder of the winxp cd, type "expand fxsocm.in_ %WinDir%\inf"

Hi guys i need to create a batch file in my thumbdrive to perform certain tasks... 1) Create a "log" folder in every drive. eg, if a computer have 3 partitions, the bat file will create the log folders in c:, d: and e: 2) Change the permission of the "log" folder to having only the administrator have the rights to access (i have subinacl.exe in my thumbdrive) 3) Change the attrib of the folder to hidden Can anyone help me out?   7. so tat means ping -a will actually send a ping packet to the target machine while nslookup will not send any packet to the target machine as it will only query the dns?

  10. Hi guys, may i know wats the difference between ping -a and nslookup? In which situation should we use ping -a instead of nslookup and vice versa? I know both can resolve IP address to hostname... Correct me if i'm wrong Thanks

  20. Hi, recently I've receive an email from my system administrator asking me to set a password to the local administrator account for every computer in the company. I believe this is so because this might help to prevent hacking as well as virus. As the situation now is that the administrator's password is blank for all the computers. I hope you all can share some views on how to go about creating the password for the administrator. Also, by creating the administrator password, will it help to reduce the chances of getting hacked? Thanks
