i dont have zonealarm, i have tryed with just nliting and no update packs. the msconfig pro i dont care too much about its minor the main problem is the WMI problem

hi all i have tryed with warious configs and various options, using a clean scorce, intigrate ryanvm update packs or without, but i still get the same errors. once the install compleats and i try to use WMI or anything that relies on it, (like xo firewall) i get a message saying something like wmi is currpt and cannot start i will try to get a screanshot in vmware. also i keep getting weird messages like when using msconfig. ""An access denied error was returned while attempting to change a service you may need to log on using an administrator account to make the specified changes" but i am loged into the admin account. i have tryed even to repair and rebuild the wmi bits using Rebuilding the WMI Repository i will try and dig out the last settions and grab a screenshot, but any help would be useful

but its just not ie, its things like saving services staus and other things. i have ie 7 installed via windows update, was installed with own media, and could not see any restrictive policies have been set

hmmm still dont know what to do, it took me just over 10 hours yesterday to install software and set windows up after format and although im still not finnished doing stuff i dont want to have to reformat again

UI am looged is as the defult administrator i can accsess the user control panel and itshows as administrator and guest ( disabled) i have no ad, but on a network of 4 pc's but generally with no pother pc's

hi i have just formated and started to install software like skype msn office ect when i rebooted i tryed to change the ie hopepage and it said “This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. right i am still slightly confused.. i ran the vbs file and it said Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard Model: hp pavilion ze4900 (PJ947EA#ABU) 4865776C 6574742D 5061636B 61726420 but the oemscan said Reading BIOS Memory Matched: Compaq Checking Authenticity of OEMBIOS files CAT file currupt: C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\Desktop\HPQ\OEMBIOS.CAT the laptop is definatly a hp pavilion ze4900, so why has it said that it is a compaq, so what set do i use?

i have read it, but i dont understand how to chose what set to use, crc of the oembios.bin is 57DBAB59 so how do i know what set we would have to use, or would i just use the hp set?

hello, sorry for the long delay, yes i did get that one fixed. now i have another questain, i am trying to build a preactivated cd for my mate, he is using a hp laptop that has a oem insall of xp home the crc of the oembios.bin is 57DBAB59 would i beable to install xp pro with this method * he has a legit xp pro cd and key* You're getting too close to the fine line between legitimate and pirated software. Personally I'd do it on my own PCs but not someone else's PC. well my mate wants to learn how to do this for himself, he is knowlagable with pc, he runs his own company, so he would have major benifits of doing it this way as he reinstalls alot. any help would be useful so is anypne gonna help? he really thinks this will save him alot of time because of the fact he formats alot as he is a beta tester and programer.

Hello all, i am wondering if it is possible to change the NTU settings ect in a hive file so i wont have to sort i out after a reinstall. if so does any1 one what the key is and in what hive? thanks Paul

Nope, doesn't help. we need the uncompressed CRC32 for OEMBIOS.CA_ run "expand oembios.ca_ oembios.cat" from the command prompt and post the hash for OEMBIOS.CAT ahhh wel the crc is 2B9D18CF if that helps

it is a key of my old laptop ( that is no longer in use, as i broke it ) i used the following files and here is there crc values OEMBIOS.SI_ - 3F656CBA OEMBIOS.BI_ - DAA84E49 OEMBIOS.DA_ - 8C103EDD OEMBIOS.CA_ - A6E560DE and the winnt.sif file i modded anyway hope this helps

hello i have tryed this but it still wanted to activate, i am using a packard bell desktop, but as it was given to me foormated i just used an oem cd of xp pro and used a oem ligit cd key. any reasons why it wanted to activte still? I used to oemscan tool to collect the necersery files and coped them to my install disk under the i386 folder? am i doing it right or have i missed something?
