  1. ok here is the output from the bcdedit OUTPUT.TXT the laptop came with windows 8, i updated it to windows 8.1 i folowed some forums and a few people had this issue after updating the bios with windows 8.1, basically the laptop wouldnt boot , and windows couldnt even do the automatic repair
  2. Hy thanks for your reply. The f9 key doesn't work anymore. From asus I was told just press it when the asus logo appears on boot There was no on screen message before about the f9 key The laptop can boot into windows at the moment using a generic oem install If I assign a grove letter to the recovery partition I can see that there still is the data on there

  5. ok but any way to recover from this, the recovery partiion is in tack and all the others are too
  6. ok who knows about adding uefi boot optionn in my bios? i did a bois update as it *improves memory issues* and now i have lost a few of the uefi boot options ( recovery, acornis true image) how do i add them back asus k55a

  8. hey all bit of a hard one here basically a few years ago my son droped my laptop and cracked the screen. so i have been using it though a tv via hdmi. windows got currupt due to hard fri failure. my questain is how could i install windows on to this laptop using the hdmi? is this even possible to load a hdmi during the setup process? i have tryed creating a unattened install of xp doesnt seem to work. the graphocs card on the laptop is a ati one. i have also tryed conecting it to a normal monitor but the fn keys dont work without the sony event service installed so it dont work laptop is about 4 years old but its worth trying to get it working espcially as i just brought a 500GB hdd for it thanks paul
