  1. Please write exactly what you have done to write it and with which app... Personally i would recommend ImgBurn for all data/audio writing tasks... The boot-image from MSFN's 'Unattended Windows' guide, works for both CD and DVD(i have tested it myself)... Since you said that your BIOS is configured to boot from CD/DVD before HDD, and that you have tested the ISO in a VM, then to me it seems like the culprit must be in the way that you write the ISO to disc... You are right, it's possible that it didn't record right. How can i make sure it will record the iso to DVD properly?
  2. Martin, I set CD/DVD as first boot, it's just reading and skipped like nothing's bootable. I do saw it boot very slowly off the dvd on first time, but after the second reboot, it just wont read. I will try to write directly to dvd instead image file, but I doubt it will work. No it didn't work. I think it's the image file itself, so where i can get the boot image that support both CD and DVD?

  4. I use CDImage as well, i havent noticed if it wont boot from dvd. What boot image do you use? I use a self captured boot image from my x64 xp cd. You can capture the boot image with nero. I have used the boot image and CDImage provided by the slipstream guide. CDImage and boot image works on virtual PC, but won't boot off my laptop at all. It have CD-RW / DVD-ROM, in case you have been wondering. Edited = I'll give Nero a try.

  6. Martin, Thank you for your reply. What I really want is to make the batch file that will install drivers at the end of RunOnceEx. How can i make it, because I can't seem find the guide in msfn. And the thing about set key, it's my theory, and I was wrong about it.
  7. I have slipstreamed sp3, wmp11, ie7, and i set up runonceex on some programs. Now my biggest concerns is the driver. I have tried this guide and it didn't work on some drivers for my Dell Latitude D600. I distinctively remember that i could run the batch in end of the runonceex process. I'm not even sure if it will work at all or not. This is just first line of 8 drivers to be installed. Cmdlines.txt runs runonceex and it's all works.   9. Guys, I have no problems with speedstep. Or any programs. Just bootimage. i found out that ihave to re-do my sp2 cd and slipstream with sp3.
  10. Actually, it WAS ISO 9660, and i only have 1.75GB on disc.
  11. Based on your findings, I have taken a look at Nero8. Character set (ISO) as ASCII is that correct? Beside, my dvd consist only... Office 2007 Dell QuickSet Dell Notebook System Setup Dell SpeedStep fix for XP Microsoft DirectX 9.0C March 2008 Redist Nero 8 Lite I plans to add more, but the thing is, i successfully integrated my laptop drivers, thanks to a06lp's Drivers from CD I have tested it from my laptop, appearing it was working properly, but it need to run with the setup.exe. So to set the ASCII should solve this mysterious problem? And I'll have to re-slipstream the new one based on the new slipstream cd that I'm going to give it a try.

  13. I got the boot sector from somewhere for XP on nero, it works before. Now it wont work on Nero 8. and i also got this strange error. The following value in the .SIF file used by Setup is corrupted or missing: Value 0 on the line in section [sourceDisksFiles] with key "SP3.cab" Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3. This is for XP. I googled it up and it came in for W2K, so it is outdated information. Please help.
  14. Never mind. Just found the whole answers. Thought I would like to make this multi-posting as my last one, so it will be visible to anyone who really needs help with unattended install. I downloaded the cmdow and made a silent SFX, thanks to winrar.. Added a line to runonceex, and it will extract it to system32 directory. It will loads the cmdow and hides, resuming the Nero 8 installation. Drivers I was frantically looking for a way to install my drivers, until i came to this thread.   17. SilverLight only works with Microsoft websites, so I don't think it is necessary for you to install it, since it was 1.16MB.

OS: Windows XP PRO SP2 Unattended Project: Windows XP PRO SP3 + unattended nero 7 Program: Ahead Nero 7.10.1.2 downloaded 7.10.1.2_allupdates.exe renamed to nero_7.10.1.2.exe and extracted NCAB, it kept not finding the Nero package. it still refuse to run, help? Edited=I also unpack it, move to a folder and use the switches. It works, but no start menu applications and nero is not found in Program Files. I'm stuck on the track again.
