  1. This will be very first I know when you manage. B) JFX manage that with wallpaper.script. Just check the .reg file inside that script + lines with reg_add,ps: you can use paraglider's WBZipMgr to extract files. Since I am not a pe3 fan but only a guy who reads the news, I can only wish my best luck.
  2. Thanks a lot the continuation of sharing your findings on internet Kullenen_Ask
  3. @jaclaz can you point me, where can I find this collection ? there is an alternative to EXTRACT.EXE with name IMGCPY which may help BeatZero not writing scripts again. @BeatZero I agree with the approach not using vdk, imdisk etc. for your project. bfi is very nice and easy to use floppy image creator with files, and further things seem to be on the route to solution. I hardly find my olllllld win98se source cd (well, since I do not have any cd/dvd reader, it was a journey to a friend with an ufd and a dvd ). I get unsuccessfull (I get startup screen of win98 with vmware v7 ....), so far I read there will be a next release coming soon and I decide better to wait. And a tiny request, can we have none-mandatory scripts that need download default unselected. Thanks again, it is a very nice project, one of a kind.
  4. herbr ah i forgot, as you are trying to install windows 2000 (not xp), dont forget to integrate sp4 of win2k so you should have a win2ksp4 cd in trials. Also my advices are for xpsp2 cd, which is really close/same to win2ksp4 cd about mass storage drivers, but i never install win2ksp4 to my board. Shortly, if you have trouble please try to install xpsp2 first with diskette method i wrote before. edit i google fu around a lot, but couldnt find anybody reporting an issue with installing xp to asus p5-vm!
  5. herbr i dont know linux well, yep in my trials linux support for ahci is really better than windows (xp to vista ) but linux livecd's couldnt mount my raid0 disks automatically which i never had such a problem from the first day of my mainboard (thanks to bartpe and all PE) (last trial with linux was a month ago ) well i installed my xp about a year ago (image backuped ), a friend adviced me : "choose ich8r first on the list, and if this dont work choose ich9" , ich9 worked, at that time there was only 1 choice for ich9 simply, during setup, press F6, and make trials of choosing (use fernando's or official drivers in diskette), as our chipsets are different i cant say which one will work for you, mine worked when i choose ich9, one of them in list will work for you. But please report here the succeess (which one you choose worked) Edit: nope, this is not the case in fact, you already found out hwid with linux, next step is modify existent drivers
  6. herbr i guess there is a misunderstanding, first of all, dont wait asus, it is not asus fault, it is intel fault. Some ICH8 chipsets provide ahci support, but in first days of tech. documents they were in unsupported list, with revised tech. support document they are now in ahci support list. But tech department in intel and driver department in intel work in different speeds. I waited one year for my board right drivers, so i made my drivers myself. look post 34 here : http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=2789&p=2, and post 37 and post 42 for 2820 and 2825 there is info here: http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/specupdate/313057.pdf **Desktop Non-AHCI and Non-RAID Mode1 **1. ICH8 contains two SATA devices (for Desktop Only). The SATA Device ID is dependant upon which SATA mode is selected by BIOS and what RAID capabilities exist in the ICH8 component. For a trial, put intel drivers in a diskette, during install of xp press F6 and use this diskette, and choose ich9 in the list : if it works fine in installing xp than The process i provided will help you modify intel drivers capable of getting and installing ahci drivers of your chipset. So integrating this modified driver to your xp cd, you dont need to press F6. Or maybe, fernando may make required changes and send you to make a trial Or maybe i misunderstand whole situation wrongly, sorry if this is the case, in anyway i hope these info helps.
  7. hi herbr you are in right place i have normal asus p5b board, which i had these problems before can you tell me which ich8 you have? mine is ICH8 82801HB and from hwid i get this: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2824&SUBSYS_81EC1043&REV_02\3&11583659&0&FA: Intel® ICH9 SATA AHCI Controller yours probably different, because you wrote 2820 in your posts strategy is a bit simple, after getting the number (in your situation 2820), use ich9 settings for ich8 to modify original driverse (it is only ich8 ahci method, not a general method) i wrote a tutorial here http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=5377 look "A ) Main Method" and follow steps 1) and 3) if you have success, please inform this topic (fernando) and dps site (as i did), so others will share of your findings. ps: in my asus there is an option: **Bios-->Main-->Ide Configuration (or ahci configuration)-->SATA Configuration-->Configure SATA as-->IDE but sadly this option is not in many boards (also not in many asus boards)
  8. OOOpppps sorry, i missed, it is already is #18 on first post, thanks for warning jaclaz
  9. Hi soso, Here are some additional information for you: there is "Driver Import PE" at http://www.kare-net.de/ for BartPE (specifically for PE) also both "Driver Import PE" and "Driver Forge" works with LiveXP: http://www.boot-land.net/forums/?showtopic=5213 And For "Driver Forge" in LiveXP there are some test results and script (plugin) you can find here: http://www.boot-land.net/forums/?showtopic=5277 ps: LiveXP is another PE, i was using BartPE before, now migrated to LiveXP
  10. Same thing happened for me but can't reproduce this behavior. All other functions of the app seem to work fine other than those mentioned above. kickarse is working on a new update to address these issues and add additional options no i had never used or uninstalled DF install, v44 is the first one i use. But here is a funny thing, before posting this message, i doubleclick on driverforge.exe again and vala, it didnt open. (tried many times with double clicking DriverForge.exe) i put it in E:\1 folder with a name DriverForge.exe, and no it didnt open. i also observed taskmanager, in taskm, DriverForge.exe shows up for a second (or less) and disappears. BUT as my main purpose is using this utility in livexp/bartpe, there never a problem like that yet. (i made many many test with them), this only happens when using my os. Maybe this bugy is about 2003x64 i am using so sometimes it works in 2003x64 and sometimes it doesnt work. (ps: i know this is not for x64 environment, i double click it just to see gui) if i find a method to reproduce the problem, i will inform. hahaha, at the end of this message, before i press send, i double click on DriverForge.exe and it started (driverforge.ini was deleted in previous trials) . for a solution lets say, if it doesnt start, delete driverforge.ini (maybe not necessary) and deal with other things for a while, than try to start DriverForge.exe again.
  11. I decide it is better to write here. as far as i understand, * amulux wrote things to add driver to the existing os on harddisk by using pe environment with DriverForge. * I do things to add driver to the existing pe in the pe environment with DriverForge. NO need to add hwpnp to your app for pe, and there can be other utilites/methods to search and add device to different "pe1 os"'s (ex: in livexp there is no hwpnp but livexp already searchs for hardware and add if needed (i am new with livexp, i dont know how yet)). But maybe you can use hwpnp to search for undefined drivers and add only the required files to os (as an option)??? example: DriverForge extract or look in and take hwids maybe in the drivers, hwpnp search for needed drivers in the environment, Driver forge extract only the needed ones. i still have tests/trials, i wrote my foundings in bootland 'cause i couldnt make it work with the way i use using livexp yet. amulux: i had no problems in using driverforge4.4 in my os, also i tried on vmware/xp32 to make first time test, and it worked immediately. But i remembered sth, at some point driverforge4.4 didnt work once when i wanted to see the gui of it (i double click on it (3 or 5 times) but it didnt work and i didnt see it on taskmanager too), i had things to do and after a while it worked nicely, but i cant remember when/how/why, and never happened again yet.
  12. hi kickarse, nice work, v4.4 worked nice for me i will try old versions too, i wrote sth here maybe/maybenot you get interested. http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?...ost&p=40541 only one question, is there a plan of making command parameter to DriverForge beside driverforge.ini file? example: cmd: DriverForge D:\dpsdrivers %systemroot%\system32\drivers ............
  13. Fernando 1 random_gigs: As an example of Fernando 1's explanation: here is a solution of a friend of mine who use sata dvd/rw and coulnt install xp, it writes turkish in there (i put this picture long time ago), simply, "connect dvd/rw to jmicron sata controller, and disable ahci of jmicron sata controller by making yellow squared settings in bios" http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/6765/mo...algap35dbn5.png ps: gigabyte dont write in its manuel pdf that it uses jmicron, but we all know it is jmicron, look google for more info. B)
  14. yes, get this driver from intel, and start to have some problems with some chipsets of intel . Please search for intel ahci driver problems from google (or maybe read previous posts of this subject) than understand the difference....
  15. AsRock_SD: classy your solution is already in Fernando 1's "2. Processing with nLite: preparation 5th step tip". Have a niceday.
  16. AsRock_SD: partition manager 8 is free, and also there are other free partition programs. Be sure the partition you are tryin to install is primary active. also there are other utilities free for imagin (i use only ghost11, so i cant give a name but i see many around). A friend had problem recent days to setup his os to his new nv chipsetted raid0 disks too , by luck he had a 3rd hdd so i gave him the solution, he suceed. the method i described before is fast and accurate for you (not much classy but nice ), as all drivers are installed on the 7th disks os and 7th disks os see all hdd, it will work by transfer to raid disk-->40Gb partition. (practiced with success many times) good luck.
  17. 'AsRock_SD' try this: 1)prepare the partition (you said 40gb) for the os, as primary active (example: with paragon partition manager) if this 1st step dont work for you (try to setup xp from cd again) then: 2)add mbr of xp (all from xp to 2003 x64/86 same mbr) to this 40gb. ( bootsect or similar program) 3)take an image (example: ghost11 and many others) of os on your 7th disk. 4)put the image on the partition of 40gb. (**all files on 40gb will be deleted) 5)remove 7th disk, and start computer with this raid disk which includes 40gb. as i see Fernando 1's drivers works nicely with you, i guess you need help on setuping os rahter then integration of intel sata and raid drivers as you already integrated. good luck
  18. Fernando 1, I already checked new zip file and deleted+edited the previous message of mine. (before your post). If new issues happen, I will post here.
  19. As fast as possible, i made 2 trials, 1st with the 32bit ones you provided, works fine 2nd with deleting %PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2824&CC_0106.DeviceDesc% = iaStor_mobl_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2824&CC_0106 lines (looked for mbl reference in pdf and i saw no mobile device for hwid 2824, i guess no problem in future too) 1- No problem for changing names (2824h signature is not for mobile) maybe this one would be nice too: Intel® ICH8 SATA AHCI Controller Fernando-Galapo (82801HB) 2- No problem in changing _RAID (2824h is not for raid, it was a mistake) you can do whatever you want in naming, np for me advice: the pdf file (313057.pdf) at http://www.intel.com/design/chipsets/specupdt/313057.htm is nice to learn about ICH8, i saved this file in name: "Intel IO Controller Hub 8 (ICH8) Family Specification Update_313057.pdf" on my pc in case of any other ICH8 probems. For all users reading this message: Intel Sata AHCI controller of 82801HB is added to Fernando 1's repacked drivers. you can get it from the 1st Post of this subject.
  20. http://www.filefactory.com/file/a313bb/n/ICH8_Ahci_rar includes 2 files: Intel_textmode_drivers_32bit_v8.2.3.1001_repacked_by_Fernando_Added_ICH8_Ahci_Support.rar 7.8.0.1012_Added_ICH8_Ahci_Support.rar i tested both with bartpe (regular) and worked perfectly. please check my work, as i am not an expert about the subject. ps: http://www.intel.com/design/chipsets/specupdt/313057.htm in the pdf file, at page 11, there is info showing 2824h id, god knows when intel add this to its driver package.
  21. Hi fernando, long time since my last message here: http://www.msfn.org/board/Integration-of-I...769#entry737769 i had same problem after starting to use livexp instead of bartpe (both winpe ) i was just postin a new message to you with new iaahci.inf file i created (with your and galapos help), i started to read the 1st message to see if any new update there, so there it is (poor me after working on some days ) http://kerneltrap.org/node/7582 i confirm the message there too, it is the same iaAHCI.INF file i created (i mean adds are the same), Both "AsusP5B" and "Intel® Desktop Board DG965RY" uses 82801HB in ahci mode with same hwid. "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2824&CC_0106" To solve LiveXP problem; LiveXP uses DPs driver pack, DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_805.7z (extract, change, repack) adding new iaahci.inf file to D\M\I3\ and in DriverPack_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32.ini at [i3] section in line "ms_1_hwids=" adding VEN_8086&DEV_2824&CC_0106 to the end, than repack. i also informed Dps team, thanks to Galapo and Jaak. i checked Intel_textmode_drivers_32bit_v8.2.3.1001_repacked_by_Fernando.zip for hwid, still no support from intel i guess. This message is for informing you, thanks to your good work.
  22. zabardast_1 1a) for ICH5R 'INTEL® 82801ER SATA RAID CONTROLLER' use drivers from here: http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/drivers/iastor.zip and wait for "Fernando 1"'s reply, "Fernando 1"may have better solution for this situation. (maybe addin line to inf file ) 1b) In Bios, you can change your sata disk mode from ahci to ide (or compatible) before installing windows, so you wont need nlite or diskette. (for sata disk problem (in fact ahci enabled sata disk problem) i prefer this way). If u use raid and dont have diskette, you have to use nlite method. 2) network LAN should be easy, use the regular way to add your network LAN driver. chipset drivers; "Fernando 1" may have better way than My method of addin chipset drivers, wait for his answer. I hope i could help.
  23. jaclaz : thanks for help, i read a lot through the links you gave, but couldn't suceed from them. after that i forced myself to make a search again, an attt last i find the program i need. "Mount Storage PE" from http://www.kare-net.de/Plugins.htm here is a summary what i did in BartPE for google searchers: BartPE not assigning drive letters problem solution: (I found the solultion from my problem; BartPE not assigning ICH8 ahci enabled disk , i think it will work for assigning drive letter for usb flash and usb externals disks too) 1) i put ahci driver from intel v7.8.0.1012 to driver folder. 2) i added lines to iaahci.inf as Fernando 1 wrote before. here are them: ; ICH8 %PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2824&CC_0106.DeviceDesc% = iaStor_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2824&CC_0106 ; ICH8 %PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2824&CC_0106.DeviceDesc% = iaStor_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2824&CC_0106 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2824&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel® 82801HB SATA AHCI Controller" 3) i put hwpnp utility to BartPE (a plugin from Sherpya that searchs plug&play devices) 4) i put "Mount Storage PE" 5) i made a command file and put it on startup, here is what i wrote: start /wait %SystemRoot%\system32\HWPnp.exe +all /log /p /d start /wait %SystemRoot%\system32\MountStorPe.exe -h 6) I made a shortcut of this command line to bartpe in case of a need of pluging a new disk. for regular users of assigning drive letter problems 3, 4, 5, 6th steps are enough. Step 1, 2 are solution for ICH8 82801HB. Thanks to "Fernando 1" again, i coulnt solve this problem for 6 months (since i bought my new mainboard) and if "Fernando 1" didnt wrote down the ICH8 82801HB solution for unattended installation of Windows I still won't solve the problem. At last its solved. ADD (20080709): with better written adds to iaahci.inf and txtsetup.oem (2nd step improvement) 3, 4, 5, 6th steps are no needed anymore, i posted a copy here: http://www.msfn.org/board/Integration-of-I...192#entry779192 also look here if you want to do yourself: http://kerneltrap.org/node/7582 LiveXP users, look here: http://www.msfn.org/board/Integration-of-I...050#entry779050
