  1. How can I make that Picture and Fax Viewer go away? I hate it! Oddly enough, JPEGs and GIFs open in the Photo Editor, but BMPs keep opening up in the Picture and Fax Viewer. And before anyone asks, I have applied the following tweak: [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers\ShellImagePreview] Am I missing something? :/
  2. And I want it to be standard. It doesn't happen every time, though. After everything is done I log on as the local administrator and the the theme is somehow set to "Modified Theme". Pretty much everything looks like the normal "luna" theme, except that the wallpaper is the plain blue one. But when I log on to the domain with a user account, everything seems normal. :/ I know that most people on this board try to steer away from the luna theme, but I think it's best to leave that alone, since I'm rolling this out to 150 people -- better to just leave it looking "normal". For now it only seems to happen to the local admin account, but I'd like to nip this in the bud, if I could. I can post my tweaks.reg code if necessary, but maybe this is a problem someone has seen before.....
  3. Is there a reg tweak that will by default set the screensaver to "none"? I already am using the one that makes the monitor never turn off: ;-----Set power settings to "Presentation"----- [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg] "CurrentPowerPolicy"="2" But I'd also like to make it so that with each user's first logon, the screensaver is set to "none". Then they can set one later if they want. Is there a reg edit that will do that?
  4. I did some more in-depth reading of the boards, and tried the cmdlines.txt route (which I never did before). And I'll be damned if it didn't work! Thanks everyone, this board is an absolute Godsend!!!
  5. Now another one has popped up -- sometimes when I run my install, the standard XP theme isn't applied, instead it's a "Modified Theme". Maybe that's a result of some other reg tweak I'm applying? I'll post my entire tweak.reg file if it would help.
  6. The taskbar reg edit runs once during the install (through the cmdlines.txt file), along with all the other reg tweaks. I then log on as the local administrator and the taskbar is unlocked. But if I reboot and log on to the domain with my user account, the taskbar is now locked. Now a big deal, but it would be nice to have one less thing to tinker with.
  7. 1. I tried the "Enable Quick Launch" tweak that someone posted (I forget where), and it worked for the local admin account, but if I run that on a new user account it does nothing. Is it supposed to work every time? 2. Same goes with the Taskbar Unlock -- it doesn't seem to work when I run it under my own account: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] "TaskbarSizeMove"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "LockTaskbar"=dword:00000000 3. Is there a way to set the default screensaver to "None" by default for all users, instead of the "Windows XP" one? I know there are more, but I can't think of them right now...
  8. There are a lot of Reg tweaks that I use for my XP unattended install -- some of which I found right here, thanks guys! But many of them are the "CURRENT_USER" variety, such as unlocking the taskbar, changing the power settings, etc. So if I run them during the installation, the tweaks are all applied to the local administrator account, naturally. But is there any way that I can make them apply to all users? The only option I can think of is listing them all in a .reg file and storing it in the WINNT folder. Then, when the user logs on and I set them up (printers, e-mail, and so on), I just run that .reg file and apply all those changes. Not a terrible solution, but I'd like something even easier. Thanks!!!
