Well I did not manage to install it once again... On first logon installation fails,after restart (second logon) installation continues,extracts,tries to configure and install than BANG...look at the screenie...

Yes I understand that. I made addon from CEoCEo script and that addon makes that problem during installation. In other words it (nero 8) does not install? EDIT: I disable windows update via Nlite...

I get same thing using CEoCEo script for nero 8 on fresh XP source with latest updates...

Yes jaws75 I'm well know about that asus windows update tool. A friend of mine also updated his bios using that tool under vista environment and it all went right. I did it once before also using it from xp but that was befor I got raid 0 on my mbo. And further more I decided to go with flash from windows..and I must say It all wen flawlessly I was so plesently suprised how well it all went.. Get back to bios after I load safe settings and set disks to RAID and voila...operating status normal...optical drives bla bla..and continues to boot with no ishues at all Thanks guys for helping me and clearing some doubts....

Thank you jaws75 and Zxian! I agree with you guys that it's safe to backup your data specially when doing something like this and data on the drives is very important. However I'm not willing to do this to be honest. In general theory it should work fine,however I wonted to be shure and ask. Maybe someone knows better or has more experience cause raid is not new tehnology. If I decide to do this I'm thinking to use windows utillity and doit that way?

Ok guys...I wonted to update my bios on asus p5B delux with latest one cause of some changes in new bioses. But I'm not shure what will happen with my data on my 2x160 barracudas that are connected in raid 0? I'm using onboard raid controller. What would happen if I decide to upgrade bios and in what circumstances? I know some of you will say: Don't try to fix it,if it's not broken,but I'm trying to skip that lesson. Thanks.

I would recommend using Ryan's Pack or Xable's Pack, explanations can be found here. If you decide to use latest (v2.1.11) Ryan's Pack addon I would strongly recommend that you include latest updates made by code65536. Good luck..

You slipstream it like any other update or addon for your win CD..using Hotfixes and Update pack tab.

Hmm I find one more interesting thing,that I did not mention and mind before. Your pack does not have msidcrl40.dll included in archive,however when you install MSN that msidcrl40.dll appears in Program files,and as that it's possible to patch it,and latter on update again archive with msidcrl40.dll that does not have it? I belive this has something to do with it? Not shure?

Shark007,so you are telling me that your msn 8.5 at your repository already has sharing folder removed? Am I correct? Maybe I should try patching it again but avoid ticking My Sharing Folders when patching using A patch? Do you have any other idea? ThX!

I used 8.5 beta and patch it with latest a-patch and remove My Sharing Folders from My computer, patched works fine update SFX installer with patched files created addon and everything seams to be fine on clean install except that fact that My Sharing Folders is still there? WTF? Did anyone experienced same problem? Or is it the ONLY way to remove it by tweaking it with orca manualy?

thnx4thepen U should add msistub.exe to your archive when u use .msi installer in this case MsnMsgs.msi, so now the switch for sfx archive should look like this msistub.exe MsnMsgs.msi /qn...

Yes I'm triying to use this script as a template for other programs that do not have installer. hmm..thanks for the info,I just test script and ai get 10 warnings i the end and no uninstall entries in CP? here is the end of warning log. Other than that it installs fine,no problem. and ...comp is script name in S&M folder Thank U

geezery would it be possible to add some entry so program can be uninstaled from CP (add/remove programs),not just via start/programs or folder uninstaler shortcut? BTW nice turtorial

Yes I agree with RaGhul, it wont' work without msistub.exe when .msi installer is involved. Place it in same directory as .msi installer.
