  1. This always works:

    BACKUP AND REFORMAT!  :)

Well not always. I did a fresh install of XP and Office XP along with Front Page 2002, thinking all would be really great since my system has run very well for the past few months. Boy was I wrong, system has slowed down, things do not load correctly, auto functions do not work correctly.. :D:D

My system was working great before the format and clean install..............

  2. Actually either one will work for just a single computer. This has been pointed out by the other post. Ethernet or USB will allow maximum down load speeds from the internet since 10 Mbyts down is the limit for folks like us ( end users ). Once again as pointed out ethernet net may require a little bit more hardware, however if you plain to use a home network this is what you will have to use.

I have used both and each worked just fine for me. I am now using ethernet because of the network I have at this time. I guess this just really just sums up what has already been said..

  3. What is the GIMP

The GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software suitable for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. This site contains information about downloading, installing, using, and enhancing the GIMP. This site also serves as a distribution point for the latest releases, patches, plugins, and scripts. We also try to provide as much information about the GIMP community and related projects as possible.

  4. NeoBlue. You should read the Rules here at MSFN. In them you will find the first rule says:

    1. This is not a warez site! Links to warez and/or illegal material (porn, cracks, serials, etc..) will not be tolerated. Discussion of circumventing activation/timebombs will also not be tolerated. If you ignore any of the aforementioned you will receive a final warning. If you choose to continue, you will be banned without notice.

Welcome to MSFN, I hope you enjoy your stay here. There a lot of informative folks here who are happy to help out.

  5. Well I decided to use the new_uninstall.exe and remove MsgPlus 2, when I clicked on new_uninstall I got a warning pop up about copy right laws. Then there was a window wanting to confirm something, not for sure what because it did not say. I clicked no and then I got a window saying it was going to change back my DNS, etc., etc.

    Is the un_installer safe?

Also is the first version of Msg Plus safe to use? I have a copy of it if it is.

    :)

  6. Well shaft welcome to MSFN.

I am sure you read all 4827 post, we do not want to miss anything.. :)

As you have stated I am sure you will get a lot of good information on Server 2003 here. These folks are in the know...

  7. Yes, I would think that it could survive for a limited amount of time. The weather will of course, over time, slowly ruin the cable, but that could take a looong time. If you want to be 100% sure that nothing goes wrong you should run it through a plastic tube or isolate it. Shield it from fx direct sunlight and water.

Personly I would go for the plastic tube  :)

great idea, i will use a plastic tube, i will try to find a whit tube so it will be protected from the sun.

Sounds like a great project you have going there reubend. One of the things that you want to look for in a plastic tube is the UV resistance. This is what does the deed on the plastic and drys it out. There is made a schedule 40 PVC conduit that is made for the electrical industry and it is made to be buried under ground or resist sun light and UV rays above ground. Check you local hardware store or electrical supplier. The stuff is pretty cheap and will work well for you. You can buy preformed fittings to make turns and the like...

  8. Well, my congratulations goes out to eMax Host for having the back up system in place. Also as motioned more back up power was brought into place, all in an effort to keep things going while this unfortunate ordeal is resolved. If someone has so little experience in the real world as to not realize that these things do happen and the only thing that can be done is to be prepared for the worst then they should keep there comments to themselves.

Thank you for the information XPerties.

For those of you who are ready to jump on someone else's misfortune, physical age does not mean mental maturaty..... :)

  9. The first thing one needs to know when upgrading is how much money do I want to spend. Once you know the amount that you have to play with then you can try and fit your wants into the equation.......

    :)
