  1. Driverpacks.net is excellent, I work at a PC repair shop and regulary have to reinstall windows on machines for which we do not have the drivers. Since slipstreaming all the drivers on driverpacks.net into the install disk (as well as all the windows updates) it saves us 3-4 hours of work per each reinstall we do. If you can't find all the drivers on then slipstreaming just the net card ones makes it a lot easier to then network deploy the rest quickly.

  3. fuziness can be caused by using a refresh rate that the monitor doesn't do particulary well. Dry dropping refresh to 60Hz it should look crisp again. Try increasing it until it's as fast as you can handle the fuziness for. 60Hz is horribly flickery (so much it gives me headaches) but 70Hz+ is much better from that aspect.
  4. I'm running vista business retail, and I have UAC disabled.
  5. Most of nlite works fine, it's just the hotfix integration that doesn't. I've tried 2 different update packs and they both crash it. (The standalone integrators for rv crashes too).
  6. I downloaded and ran the 2.0 isntaller but it says "This product is already installed as part of the operating system", is there a better way to check I have it? Maybe it was that I wasn't running as Administrator, in fact thinking about it, that's probably it. edit: hmm nope, still crashes!
  7. I'm getting crashes trying to run nLite under Vista too, anyone have any inspiration on this?
  8. The disk is completely clean. I've tried a completely clean disk with no partitions, with 1 unformatted partition, with 1 large formatted partition. No joy with any of it! EDIT: After removing a few options I didn't understand like UseConfigurationSet it seems to be working well!
  9. Hi, I've recently been trying to setup an unattended Vista install, and after several attempts to use the (rather outdated?) WAIK guide on the MS site I found you guys here. Reading through the forums have been most helpful, however I can't find anything on this nugget: "The selected partition requires at least 85995 MB free space" at the partitioning screen. (Not automated, I'm using a modified version of your sample file). If I DO automate it, it seems to work correctly but then says "Disk must have at least ~6700MB free space" once it gets to the "copying files" stage. My drive is an 80 gig drive. Given this, it somehow seems like some part of the installer wants to use up 71gigs of data before it even tries anything. I've attached the current version I'm using. p.s. I still have to enter no product key and say I don't want to enter the key yet, is this screen skippable? Using the product key setting but leaving it blank just causes it to give an error and not install at all. unattend.xml
