  1. Am I missing something here? When did laptops ever come with drivers for the LCD display? Anyways, I have been having tremendous amount of difficulties installing Windows XP on my Gateway laptop. At first I thought it was the SATA driver, but now I'm starting to think it may be the video card driver. I'm using the driver for the Intel GMA 950 from the Driverpacks. Is that the problem why Windows XP cannot boot to the desktop? The installation isn't very consistent. While it's silently installing the drivers, the driver installation menu would pop up multiple times asking me to locate and install the plug and play monitor driver. I clicked yes many times and it said it was successfully installed and yet keeps on asking me to click yes and search and etc. Finally it stops doing that and proceeds to finish installing. Afterwards, it just crash as it enters the Windows XP screen. Do you guys think it may be the video card driver from the driver pack that is causing this problem?

  2. type into the command prompt:

    cd /d c:/mkbtdir

    mkbtdir is whater the path is to the directory with mkbt in it

    once this is done, just type in the command on that website

    I just did that and it didn't work. This is all that the screen shows:

    * Expert mode (-x)

    * Warning different filesystem ID

    Size=0bytes OEM="<=_[sIHC" VolLabel="NO NAME" FileSys="FAT16"

    Now that I'm thinking, is all of this really necessary? I just want to be able to store SATA drivers on my USB stick and get the "F6" function to detect the SATA drivers on the USB stick.

  3. That command-line doesn't work. Try this:

    1) Download the F6Flpy32.zip file from Intel website

    2) Extract F6FLPY32.ZIP to a temp directory

    3) Extract the F6FLPY32.EXE using WinRAR or WinImage (with WinImage, you can skip Step 4)

    4) Finally, extract the contents of TEMP.IMA using WinImage or UltraISO

    In case you don't have the tools to do that, I've saved you the trouble. You can download v6.2.1.1002 (1/4/2007) from here: F6FLPY32.ZIP

    Thanks!

  4. I'm not sure if I'm wording this properly so please bear with me. I'm trying to install Windows XP and I need to load up a storage driver before I can install Windows. So at the screen, it ask me to press "F6" and I did, but then, it can't seem to detect my USB memory stick. I just placed the drivers into the root directory of the USB stick. Am I doing this properly or I need to format the USB memory stick to emulate floppy mode? Thanks!

  5. can anyone host the contents of the exe for me?

    There is another way to obtain the files and it will also work in the feature with newer releases of the drivers.

    You will need to download the Win32 setup of Intel Matrix Storage driverpackage from Intel.com instead of F6 floppy installer.

    After that you can extract the files from the downloaded archive, this can be done by launching the iata.exe file from a prompt or the Windows run with the following parameters:

    \iata621_enu.exe" -A -PC:\IATA

    This way the files will be extracted to the C:\IATA folder without installing them on your system. the files located in the C:\Extracted\Driver\ folder are the same as the files you will find in the F6 floppy installer.

    The command doesn't work for me too.

  6. What I mean by this is that does HFSLIP modifies any files during the installation process like what Nlite does? If so, does this make it a less "standard" install that I could obtain if I were to do it manually by following the unattended guide from MSFN? I notice in my the Control Panel's "Add and Remove screen" that a HFSLIP application is installed.

    Ultimately it goes down to this, does HFSLIP make an unattended install the same as I would have achieved manually by following MSFN's unattended guide?

    Thanks!

  7. I don't know what happened to the OP, but I'm really frustrated by the fact that I can't get this to work. I just bought a USB stick and I should receive it tomorrow.

    How do I make my USB stick bootable like a floppy disk? Can I just place these files in the USB stick's main directory and then just press "F6" to load them and install Windows XP?

    a. iaahci.cat

    b. iaahci.inf

    c. iastor.cat

    d. iastor.inf

    e. iastor.sys

    f. license.txt

    g. readme.txt

    h. txtsetup.oem

  8. Have you tried sending a email to Logitech supprot and asking them if they have a way for it to be installed silently?

    I use Installshield to change IS based installers or I do the route that makes a answer sheet. Not the way they stated here since InstallShield allows you to make one that is the way I do it. But, I have found that with some of these newer program versions that most of the time I can not even access their installer.

    Try tracking down the Universal Unpacker in these forums use it, if you can. I have the same software so I will try and mess with it and maybe even build a answer sheet that you could use or copy. I can not give you a copy of the InstallShield program though so don't even ask that.

    No I haven't, but I figure someone here would know.

    I feel like I'm 95% done and I need someone to tell me what to do afterwards so that I can finish off my unattended CD!
