Simon, I didn't use Winrar to pack the drivers. I just set it up the way how I understood your post and the driver did install itself. However, the CP didn't install and I did use RunOnceEx, but the CP didn't install. I'll try again, but I have my doubts.

How do I silently install Intellipoint 4.12?
Sgt_Strider replied to Sgt_Strider's topic in Device Drivers

Well, I just tried to copy the following into notepad: "REG ADD %KEY%\050 /VE /D "Intellipoint 4.12" /f REG ADD %KEY%\050 /V 1 /D "msiexec.exe /i \"%systemdrive%\Install\mouse\IP4_1.msi\" MM=\"IME3\" REBOOT=\"ReallySuppress\" /q" /f " Then I save it as RunOnceEx.cmd and I copy the directory with IP4_1.msi into a folder called Mouse. I then create an iso with xpcreate and it didn't installed at all. So I just end up wasting a CD.
The problem MUST be the directory structure you used, or the filename... (just to make sure: mouse VS Mouse *might* give problems...) P.S.: start using CD-RW's
I would use CDRW's except that it's too big to fit CDRW's. I'll try that out and see if it works, but I have my doubts. -
Simon, I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I followed instructions that you provided on the first page. The ATI videocard drivers installed correctly, but the control panel didn't install. I don't know why. I created the detached.cmd with the following inside: @echo off FOR %%d IN (c: d: e: f: g: h: i: j: k: l: m: n: o: p: q: r: s: t: u: v: w: x: y: z:) DO IF EXIST %%d\$OEM$\$1\detached.cmd SET CDROM=%%d start /wait %CDROM%Software\ATIRARSFX.exe EXIT However, nothing happened. Is it because I didn't use a RarSFX to pack the control panel? I'm not sure how to use RarSFX to pack it...

How do I silently install Intellipoint 4.12?
Sgt_Strider replied to Sgt_Strider's topic in Device Drivers
I install Intellipoint 4.12 from RunOnceEx.cmd. Here is the exact code that works for me: REG ADD %KEY%\050 /VE /D "Intellipoint 4.12" /f REG ADD %KEY%\050 /V 1 /D "msiexec.exe /i \"%systemdrive%\Install\mouse\IP4_1.msi\" MM=\"IME3\" REBOOT=\"ReallySuppress\" /q" /f
Where did you place the Intellipoint 4.12 file? Did you extract the drivers from the main setup.exe file? -
Need help installing Microsoft Intellipoint 4.12
Sgt_Strider replied to Sgt_Strider's topic in Device Drivers
Thanks for that clarification. The mouse that I'm using is a Microsoft Intellieye Explorer Version 3. How would I specify that in the file and the process? Thank you. -
I'm not sure what is the "K" switch, but I followed the instructions that you provided in the first page. Only the videocard driver got installed. How do I use the .iss method with the control panel? Or you do you mean use the .iss method for both the driver and the control panel? Btw, I didn't install Radclocker because I have no need for it. Thanks.

Hi guys, I'm trying to figure out how to get Microsoft Intellipoint 4.12 installed silently. I've searched up on threads on it, but I still can't seem to understand it. If you guys can provide me with very specific information or steps into doing it, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I just tried this method, but I only manage to get the driver to install. The control panel is still not installed. Any possible reasons in what I did wrong?
-
I see, I see. I guess I'll try that on a fresh install to see how it'll end up working.

I tried to follow the instructions here for the new ATI Catalyst 5.1 drivers and I was in for a surprise. I tested my install via Microsoft Virtual PC and when the whole system was done, the videocard installed as a S3 Trio and my monitor resolution was below the one that I specified in my winnt.sif file. Also the colour resolution was lower too, 8 bit vs. 32 bit that I set in the file. What's going on here?

How do you slipstream Viewsonic monitor drivers?
Sgt_Strider replied to Sgt_Strider's topic in Device Drivers
I placed the Viewsonic VX910 drivers from the 7z file into my 003_monitor folder. When I test installed it via Microsoft Virtual PC, nothing is detected. The monitor installs as a Default monitor. -

Sgt_Strider replied to Sgt_Strider's topic in Device Drivers
with the 7z file, I extract the vx910 files out and I put it in 003_monitor folder. In Winnt.sif, I just point the installation to look into the folder right? No other changes necessary? -

How do you slipstream Viewsonic monitor drivers?
Sgt_Strider replied to Sgt_Strider's topic in Device Drivers
Ok, I downloaded i6comp.exe and I placed it in my "E:\Windows\System32" folder. I opened cmd window and the default location is this: "E:\Documents and Settings\Administrator> and I tried to add the statement in by copy and paste "i6comp.exe x data1.cab". It didn't worked and instead I got a error message: "InstallShield 6.x Cabinet Util Version 0.2 -] fOSSiL & Morlac - 2000 [- Could not open data1.hdr" What is going on here? -
Hi, I'm trying to follow the guide to installing the latest Intel INF drivers. The guide is located here. Anyway, I downloaded the setup.exe file from Intel's website. Then I extract it with Winrar like what the guide said. Everything went ok so far and then I go to start>run>cmd and typed in "setup.exe -A -S -P e:\intel" and nothing happened. What is going on? I don't see anything in my E: drive. Help?

Hi, I'm trying to silently install this driver and the first thing that I did was to download this driver from nzone. Then I extracted the files from the main setup.exe and all I got is one .inf file and tens of other files including another setup.exe inside. Is this all that I have to do and now simply link it to the winif.sif file? Thanks.

I'm trying to download the latest unsigned nforce motherboard drivers from guru3d.com. I'm not sure how to install them since you'll have to extract the files from the main file after downloading. Then there are folders inside and a setup.exe file. Can anyone here provide me with some information? The one that I am interested in is the Nforce 6.14 driver. Here is the link to the driver: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=903

How do you slipstream Viewsonic monitor drivers?
Sgt_Strider replied to Sgt_Strider's topic in Device Drivers
Just wondering, have you actually tried this yourself? Because the file inside contain only a setup file and not individual .inf files that I would need to install it. Since the setup file is a installshield application, does that mean I would install this differently? -

HOTFIXES: Windows XP SP2 & Windows 2000 SP4
Sgt_Strider replied to Incroyable HULK's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
So let me get things straight. According to the first page, there are only two critical upgrades for a XP SP2 system? While all other released patches are non-critical?
