I'm looking for the autounattend.xml file that does the basic unattend install. Can someone post a sample file for me to review? Please remove your cd-key in the process. I just need the basic script that will get my Windows 7 Professional disc to install with username and etc.
Thx!

Here is what I use in my cleanup.cmd to remove the shortcuts from my documents and the actual samples from all users. This is with XP SP3.
DEL /Q "%userprofile%\My Documents\My Music\Sample Music.lnk"
DEL /Q "%userprofile%\My Documents\My Pictures\sample pictures.lnk"
RD /S /Q "%AllusersProfile%\Documents\My Pictures\Sample Pictures"
RD /S /Q "%allusersprofile%\Documents\My Music\Sample Music"
RD /S /Q "%allusersprofile%\Documents\My Music\Sample Playlists"What's the difference between DEL and RD? I tried to copy and paste the RD commands, but it didn't work.

Try this. Extract the downloaded file setpoint472.exe with 7zip. Find the folder 1-setpoint. In that folder there is a file setup.exe and a file setup.iss. This is an InstallShield installer and can be installed silently by using these switches: setup.exe /s /f1setup.iss You could also make a 7zip sfx switchless installer if you'd like.
Krose,
Thanks for attempting to help me, but I really don't understand how to do this. Do you think you can provide a detailed post outlining the steps that I have to take in order to get it to work? Thanks!

Basically use the command as stated in the previous posts and give the path to the folders.
RD /S /Q "%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Pictures\Sample Pictures"
RD /S /Q "%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Music\Sample Music"
Sorry for bumping up an old thread, but I just want to let you know that it no longer works under Windows XP SP3. Do you happen to know why it won't work anymore?

Hi guys, I just finished creating a cleanup.cmd file, but I'm not sure how to activate the file and where to place it within the directory. Can someone please help me out on this?

Is there a registry tweak to enable the "more information" screen to be disabled when transferring files? I don't want to press the arrow to get the dropbox to happen and see how fast my files are being transferred over.
Does anyone here also have the registry tweaks for disabling UAC and the security center?

Security Update for Flash Player (KB923789)0 -
I just want to say that I don't like Vlite because I read somewhere that it uses "hacks" for certain features. I just want to use a "standard compliant" job to get this thing done.

Whenever I open up a folder, there is the sidebar with a favorite links and a list of folders. How do I disable the favorite links? I find it to be a waste of space and annoying to look at.

I'll give it a try. Thanks!

I can't seem to get it to work even though I meticulously followed FireGeier's guide. I always get an error message of Vista not being able to locate the boot-critical drivers. Is there another method of integrating Vista drivers into my image? I don't really want to use the Vlite option.
Great driverpacks for vista..check it out
Are there any instructions on the website on how to integrate the drivers into the Vista image? Is this process a "hack job" or it's a "standard compliant job"?

Has anyone here successfully implemented the instructions for integrating drivers into their image? I can't seem to get it to work. I always get an error that Vista cannot locate the boot-critical drivers. I did manage to get the basic answer file to work though.

After I install the ISO file that HFSLIP created for me, I get an error message as Windows XP is installing those drivers to prepare for the installation of Windows. The message is this:
STOP: C0000221 Unknown Hcd Error
\systemroot\system32\ntdll.dllWhat did I do wrong?

Use nLite. It worked fine on my XP Pro SP3 VLK disk.
What about doing it manually?

Does anyone here have instructions on how to integrate IE7 into a Windows XP SP3 VLK disc?

I don't know about the rest of you but I'd prefer if someone made this topic the same way as the one for XP.
No offense to anyone but this topic is a mess...
I agree.

For some odd reason, I can't get WAIK to work for me. The program says there's a problem with the script that I created. I'm wondering if anyone of you guys can provide me with a script to play with and the CD-key removed for obvious reasons .

There are two components. One called Windows-International-Core and one called Windows-International-Core-WinPE. The WinPE one only applies to the PE pass and the other applies to specialize and oobeSystem passes.
I'm not sure about the languages as I only use English and Russian (for the wife) but I noticed something about Language Packs so maybe you need one of these Packs to be able to select the appropriate language. Sorry I can't be anymore help.
Can you post the settings that you're using to enable Russian language support?

I finally decided to try an unattended installation with Vista after giving up on it early in the summer. I got some questions for FireGeier or anyone that is experienced at this.
oobeSystem \ Windows-International-Core
The setting above doesn't seem to exist even though I have followed the instructions carefully and I went back to double check it. Am I missing something here? It's odd that a similar menu to this exist for the Windows PE section.
Let's say that if this menu does exist and someone tell me how to add it, how can I enable Chinese (simplified and traditional characters) for Vista? I don't see the "language group" setting that exist in Windows XP. I'm not sure how to do it and I would appreciate if someone tells me how to add it. Thanks!
Can someone please answer my questions above? I've been waiting for almost one month for a response!

In the past when I use HFSLIP, Windows had no problem displaying Chinese characters in Windows Media Player 11. I'm not sure whether I'm using an update from Microsoft that is breaking this language support. I know for sure that I'm using the right settings (using the language value of 9 and 10 in winnt.sif). It worked before, but I can't seem to isolate the updates due to the fact that I have downloaded and installed them already. Does anyone here know why?

Hi maxSPsoft,
What kind of tuning are you talking about?
