Tomcat is correct. Please post your sysoc.inf or sysoc.in_ file.

    HFNETCHK

Sounds like your homebrew setup files are incorrect, which isn't HFSLIP's fault. My advice is to spell out the full path to the exe's and cmd's in your CMD files. Also, is your winnt.sif file correct?
  3. HFSLIP is for home users... unless your boss will pay the dev's.
  4. If it matters, 98% of HFSLIP is making sure setup files are made and altered correctly, 2% is to be sure that the latest binaries are packed in the sourcess folder. If you want to know the nitty gritty, you probably want to read this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/828930/
  5. os2fan, would you mind if the hfslip guys integrated your above batch file into the hfslip?

  7. You can try putting the exe into the appreplacement folder, and HFSLIP will automatically modifype it and cab it too. But be careful, there are other DLLs that explorer uses (shlwapi is one of them). If you use the incorrect/incompatable dlls, weird things could happen.

    Codec slipstreaming

Yes, the register command is in the hfslipwu.inf file. I even tried registering in svcpack via a cmd file, but nada. Strange.
  9. Thanks Oleg2. Dumb Q, but what is the "right" nvidia driver to download? If I use the extracted 91.47_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql.exe in my OEM structure, I can't get past the detecting hardware part of setup. However, if I use the extracted 84.26_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql.exe all is OK. Which one are you using? Or am I using the wrong ones altogether?
  10. I have probs with chm files, probably because of the itss files. I typically don't need the help files, so it doesn't bother me. I'll have to retrofit the reducers to fix this... one of these days.
  11. The HFSLIP homepage (www.hfslip.org) has a link that says downloads. The first message of this thread has a link to the downloads. Both links point to the same spot.

    Codec slipstreaming

I use MP classic. It's strange that it only needs to re-register the divxdec file and all is OK. Maybe hfslip should re-reg it on hfslipwu.inf?
  13. I must say that I never really tried integrating my drivers before... until today . What a cool feature. Great job OlegII! I have all but one of my drivers out of the OEM structure and now they are packed into my driver.cab file. The only driver left is the nvidia drivers. What I did find out, with some trial and error, is that the latest nvidia drivers do not work well with 2k. I'll use the older ones instead. Once again, great job OlegII & TC.

    Codec slipstreaming

I finally had some time to check out Tain's packs after all this time. Kudos. It works great, but I have a little problem with a divx file. It seems that I have to re-register the divxdec.ax file manually for my media player to play it. Any ideas on how to fix this? Other than that, all is fine.
  15. To all - be careful if using OlegII's silent help installer if you are hfslipping ie6 & hfcleanuping ie6. The installer seems to break some mshtml stuff specific for ie6.
  16. HAHAHA! Actually I prefer the context menus using the IE6 core, some applications don't work right (or at all) with the IE5 core and some pages don't render right with the IE5 core. On a plus note, it works great with Maxthon.
  17. I use the IE reducers, but I do not use the reducers that have more than the 3 Z's. This removes IE but leaves behind the IE6 HTML rendering dll's. With this setup, I can use all my software that requires IE6 and no applications complain. Another way to say it, there is no program files\internet explorer, but my system behaves as if IE was there.
  18. All is fine with my 2k/ie6/dx9/hfexpert & heavy hfcleanup. Can't wait to install on a real box!
  19. Why is your hfslip log of the HF directory not in alphebetical order? Are you sure you didn't modify it before posting?
  20. Here's a little commandline that may help to strip off the dot extension and put into Oleg2's suggested format. FOR /F "DELIMS=." %%I IN ('DIR HFEXPERT\STORAGE /B') DO ECHO %%I=%%I.SYS,4
  21. @SeraMana - Thanks for setting that up. I think it's pretty cool seeing this project being used 1/2 around the world from me.
  22. Uninstaller.... This method is not a true appreplacement, but here it goes. Go to http://www.nirsoft.net/ and grab myuninstaller. Place the exe file in hfexpert\win\system32. Then when you want to run it, type start/run and type in myuninstaller.exe (or whatever the file is called). mediaplayerclassic. If you are using FDV's fileset, you are also removing media player. If you carefully edit FDV's files, you can use appreplacement for media player. If you don't feel like editing files, just put the renamed media player classic file into hfexpert\win\system32. To launch, start/run and type in the exe filename.
  23. 9.25
  24. Oleg2 - Welcome back. Hope you are doing OK. Nice to see you back!!!!
  25. Is it worthwhile for HFSLIP to automagically select compression type A when a hfcleanup is detected? Sounds like this would avoid lots of problems that people are having.
