  1. You're using hfslip 2.0, which is tomcat76's software. Tomcat has been missing for about a year at this point. I suppose that you can say that hfslip2.0 is obsolete. Can't be much help with your log there, unless you go back to hfslip1.
  2. If it means anything, I have been running without wbem and rsm for quite some time and haven't noticed any issues. (I don't use FDV's fileset.)
  3. You need to and remove it from your HF folder if the issue remains.
  4. It could be a few things. It could be the language (each language has strange characters), it could be that your host machine is unidentified (i.e. Host OS - Unknown). Is your host machine running winxp, 32 bit winxp, 64bit winxp or vista? You'll need a 32 bit host OS. I suppose as a workaround, you could extract the directx exe file with your favorite decompression tool and put the CAB files in HFCABS and place the directx installer somewhere else on your harddrive.
  5. For starters, please rename your working directory so it's just a string of characters... instead of D:\T‚cnica\aba\xp\hfslip_sp3_maio_2009\ you should use D:\Tcnica\aba\xp\hfslip_sp3_maio_2009\. Also, you'll need to check to be sure that you aren't including any IE6/OE6 updates. Don't worry, I won't take the fun away from you by comparing hotfix lists.
  6. The activex bits hotfix is just an registry change. No files are inside the hotfix installer other than the necessary registry fixes.
  7. I'd recommend to make your hotfix list agree with the stickied post on this forum. You have a variety of flavors of mdac and wmp hotfixes you're trying to slipstream. You'll need to make a decision what flavor you'd like and use that flavor only (i.e. mdac 2.5 vs mdac 2.8 and wmp7 vs wmp9).
  8. Thanks for finding and fixing the bug wsmith. New beta released to fix this issue.
  9. That line of code looks odd. Nice find! Can you rename the line as you mentioned, retest and report back? BTW, that line came from here.
  10. rhadamants - I appreciate your inputs, but please don't post the full up script file. Posting the script file without the software license and credits is against the software license agreement. Please repost the latest from/to changes and I'll be happy to incorporate them.

    Windows Updates

Brimborium - Glad it worked out for you. The newest beta rev j is posted which fixes that revision issue. Thanks for the constructive criticism!
  12. New beta up to address the dx9 hotfix & software license. Thanks for submitting the dx9 prob Brimborium & thanks to jimmsta for the creative commons agreement.

Sorry real life got in the way and was not able to touch my PC until today. Does someone else want to maintain the lists?

    HFSLIP-2.0

My $.02. Please talk with Tomcat76 about hfslip 2.0. That is his creation.
  15. Ummm, hfslip is for personal use. Period. When the program is run, it is clearly evident that it is for personal use only. If you want to roll out the changes in a corporation, please use a different software. I'm sure you'd get the same response if you asked to use NLITE in a corporate environment.
  16. Acheron - Good stuff. Can someone who does network installations test out those lines to see if it works for their environment? I have no problem changing the script, as long as a network installer can verify this.

    IE8 support?

Just a little note. Please use the beta thread to obtain the CMD file. rhadamants had issued a few not so nice updates in the script he posted. BTW, another option for the quicklaunch shortcut, create a CMD file called whatever you want (I call mine showdesktop.cmd) inside the HFSVCPACK folder. This works irregardless of the setting in your winnt.sif file. IF NOT EXIST "%userprofile%\application data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch" MD "%userprofile%\application data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch" echo>"%userprofile%\application data\microsoft\internet explorer\quick launch\Show Desktop.scf" [Shell] echo>>"%userprofile%\application data\microsoft\internet explorer\quick launch\Show Desktop.scf" Command=2 echo>>"%userprofile%\application data\microsoft\internet explorer\quick launch\Show Desktop.scf" IconFile=explorer.exe,3 echo>>"%userprofile%\application data\microsoft\internet explorer\quick launch\Show Desktop.scf" [Taskbar] echo>>"%userprofile%\application data\microsoft\internet explorer\quick launch\Show Desktop.scf" Command=ToggleDesktop

    Windows Updates

Thanks for the update mukke. To all - Question 1 - Is KB909520 a valid update? Or is msft pulling our leg? Question 2 - Can someone compile a list of IE8 updates?
  19. Hmmm, that's weird. Tell me, on your sp3 oem disk, is there a driver.cab AND a sp3.cab or there only a driver.cab? I was testing this for a good part of the day and nada.
  20. I can't seem to replicate this error. Can you post your hfslip.log on a case where you get this error? I may ask for you to provide your winnt.sif too to see what options you are enabling/disabling (less the SN of coarse).

    IE8 support?

rhadamants - Thanks for the inputs. Did you use the latest beta (reg G) when you made the mods? To all, what is the concensous - dump IE7 slipstreaming and replace with IE8? Or do both?
  22. Thanks Tain. Updated new beta.

    Windows Updates

Let's give this update a few days to see if it's true. There are plenty of occasions that things like this happen. On top of it all, I don't see why a hotfix from 2005 is coming to light many years later. I plan on updating the list after patch Tuesday.

Is this smartcard hotfix a critical or non-critical update?

    IE8 support?

Thanks for the inputs rhadamants. Does anyone feel brave enough to mod the beta to see if it works? Sorry, my time is limited and can't test and tune.
