  1. Hey

i have a litle story for you, with Registry and Admin Rights etc, ive just left school, and am now in college, when in school i was considered as the admin, because he was never in, and i had the same Q's as him, and i had to give myself elivated Permissions to access the Registry via a few workaround, and i got kicked out of the school, even though i solved the problmes over the network, so i recommend you dont play with the registry, unless it is your own comuter, with is being used for testing use etc.

    Thanks Ethan

  2. Hello,

Windows will not just install as it is off a USB Drive, as many people has said, it needs a CMD Windows of some sort to launch a simple batch file that will copy over all the files Format your HDD, then install with your winnt.sif or unattened.txt file. So you need to find something that will boot off it, or make your own Custom Boot image, that will launch the CMD window, (Such as a Windows 9x* Floppy Setup Disc). then run a batch script automatically from with in that CMD window, so setup can launch the winnt.exe file, i Know i have repeated wot i have said here, but i hope it makes sence, and that it helps you

  3. Hi,

Im new here at MSFN, and this may be a re post, if so im sorry,

I bought a new laptop a while ago, and the Sysprep had obviously been set up.

But they had their own Custom Little Windows Introduction, where you would give your User name, Product key Etc

I was wondering how they done this,

The secotion of the installation i mean the the very last part before you logon. Where it asks if you want to Register with Microsoft

Any help with this would be great

    Thank you

    Ethan. :thumbup

  4. Hi, Windows Vista will not INSTALL on anything less that 512Mb RAM, because it does a check on start up, and if you do not have enought RAM it will say so, and you will not be able to continue, but if for example you borrow 512Mb RAM off a friend, Family member etc, and install it then, then put your RAM back into your computer without the 512Mb it will run, so Vista requires 512MB to Install, not to run.

    Hope This helps

    Ethan.
