The best way for you, especially if you are newcomer, is to use Desktop Authority from Scriptlogic. You will be able to not only perform folder redirections for making user documents independent from their computer, but you can simplify all desktop management needs.

Alternatively this can be done with Desktop Authority. Using its Application Launcher settings you can set an applicaton to run on any specific PCs. Our monthly defragmentation is organized using this feature.

Power management using GPO - it's gonna be great. I've used Ez Gpo. This tool works good. In addition to GPO for some fine tuning settings, we are using one more application - Desktop Authority. It has a very handy power management option.

We recently evaluted SMS & Desktop Authority. Desktop Authority showed to be best for functionality.
