Not to sound rude, but have you checked audio settings to make sure you've got "mic" set as the default recording device?! Also try manually updating the driver for your card and pointing it to the directory where the realtek driver is (you might have to extract the Realtek driver to a folder first... can't remember if it comes as an executable or not)

Open the Haali Media Splitter Settings and in the options there's a section "Explorer Inregration". Click "enable thumbnails extraction" and type a number into the "Thumbnails offset" box. I have something stupid like 254468 typed in it. Should now have thumbails
