Guys, here is the same problem, using nLite 1.3 final. I think this is caused by one of latest hotfixes. I think it is probably KB905474 but not sure...we'll do some test and let you know. Btw registering components takes cca 20 minutes or 30 but everything works fine here.

See http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/FAQs_TOP_20.html#7 for answer. Labelflash support is built-in. P.S. It is best to download Lightscribe Host software directly from manufacturer: http://www.lightscribe.com/support/index.aspx?id=305 For people with download problems. I use standard hotlink prevention. Make sure your browser/downloadmanager supports referer tag. Thanks dude. I have downloaded new Nero yesterday from updatepack.nl but it was very slow, about 26kB/sec but anyway, thanks for your work!

I`m currently using Nero 7.5.1.1 and I found that it doesn`t contain Lightscribe...I have Lightscribe supported drive Benq LS DW1655. Am I stupid or it is really not included in Nero Lite?

Oki, thanks. This means I can modify source in any way except svcpack.inf....? How do you integrate new hotfixes into source for the future use after you already modiefied it with DPbase?? -
Works perfect here. Just a question guys. Do you know where in PC does Illustrator saves Activation data? I want to pack these files with activation data into sfx archive...I can`t find anything in registry nor in my PC...how do you guys activate Illustrator silently? Any idea appreciated

[Tutorial] Making your own DriverPacks for n00bs
embe replied to ricktendo's topic in Device Drivers
Ehm...sometimes is difficult for me to explain waht I really want as english is not my native language so check the following scenario please and advise if ok: 1)creating UAXPCD with all applications and latest hotfixes etc (using cmdlines, RunOnceEx etc...) 2)slipstreaming latest driverpacks with DPs base 3)making ISO 4)installing final product to my PC 5)month later M$ issues lets say 5 hotfixes and lets say I want to update current Nero 7.5.1.1. and Shark issue lets say Java 1.5.10. So I just want to update UAXPCD with all this stuff: - Hotfixes using nLite - Nero and Java using RunOnceEx updating Setup folders in $OEM$\install\Applications... I just want to perform these 3 update operations and I don`t want to update driverpacks. So after I update UAXPCD with latest hotfixes and NERO+Java I will make ISO and reinstall PC again. Will this scenario work? If yes there`s nothing to stop me with playing with your custom driverpacks and DPs base . If not I have to find another solution. P.S.:I`m creating UAXPCD for 4 PCs and that`s why I want to use Driverpacks (otherwise I`ll use only drivers for hardware in PC...) Thanks for yr help -

I finished my UA XPCD in these days and I want now to integrate drivers now. I found a lot of methods here on the forum. I think about BTS driverpacks but I`m now little bit confused. If I use this method it seems based on above it will be not possible to modify UAXPCD anymore. So my questions are: 1) is it possible to update UAXPCD with never applications when BTS driverpacks are used 2) is it possible to update UAXPCD with new hotfixes when BTS driverpacks are used or do I have use DPs Base as last only if I use nLite or RVM Integrator? I use RunOnceEx for my applications but I sometimes use nLite for some stuff, e.g. NetFramework and hotfixes... -
How to make a software from .exe become .msi?
embe replied to PatrickEmpire's topic in Application Installs
Everything sound like you`re satisfied with it. The question is "cleaning" of MSI. I found WinInstall LE creates not only MSI file but also some other folders and registry stuff which is normal. The question is how I recognize what to delete (clean) and how to do so? Just simply by deleting? -
How to make a software from .exe become .msi?

WinINSTALL LE is a great application but is this a "stable" solution? Does each program created with WinInstall LE work for 100%? What`s your experiences? -
The solution is very easy - get never version Azureus_2.5.0.0_Win32.setup.exe and use /S switch

Yeah, thanks for this great tip!!

Too many installs to be seen on the Runonce list?
embe replied to Mikep7779's topic in Application Installs
I planned my scenario on your request. It's good for two ROEX installation. I'm glad you solved the problem. However, I don't put EXIT in my CMDs. Either I put CLS or nothing. Both work! Thanks mazin, it`s perfect and I think I`ll hide 1st ROE somehow...no problem. EDIT1: OfficeXP problem solved. When reinstalling system after NetFramework 2.0 caused error I took XPCD from HDD to CD in other PC and when copied from that CD to newly reinstalled system 1 file hasn`t been copied...I did it again now and Office installs without problems. EDIT2: First ROE will only contains Office XP so other ROEs will top 1st ROE coz these will have more apps in it. EDIT3:I have found what causes OfficeXP missing file. It`s CDImage Pro... -
Too many installs to be seen on the Runonce list?
embe replied to Mikep7779's topic in Application Installs
Yeah, works, but only partially coz I have more than 2 ROEs. Your scenario loads 1st ROE (HKLM) and then 2nd ROE (HKCU). I created another 4 ROES (HKCU type) where 2nd calls 3rd etc...but it doesn`t work... Any suggestions? I`ll try to add rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess into second ROE and merge ROEs 2-5 EDIT: That`s it! Just one thing I have to fix - hidding of 1st ROE (HKLM). Even if I put "EXIT" as a last line it remains there while other ROEs runs... -

Too many installs to be seen on the Runonce list?
embe replied to Mikep7779's topic in Application Installs
@ MAVERICKS CHOICE I always test on a real machine through Start\Run\ and in VMware too. I never reinstalled XP due to testing...And that`s the reason why I had to reinstall XP coz I tested Net Framework 2.0 in real machine - installer dedicated for svcpack method (I didn`t know it of course:- ) @ cyberloner if u remove the rundll32 iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess command at the middle one... it will popup runoncex installation a long list that u cannot see what it is install at the bottom of it... so if i return into method of 2 separtate ROEs (RunOnceEx which call for RunceOnceEx2.cmd at his end and so on) and if I remove from 1st ROE command rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess ROE starts at first logon prior to desktop launch and it will show list of apps which are mentioned in 1st ROE and at it end calls for ROE2 the 1st will dissapear and 2nd will pop up and continues with installation? This sounds logical but as far as I remember it doesn`t work...but I`m not sure.... -
Too many installs to be seen on the Runonce list?
embe replied to Mikep7779's topic in Application Installs
@ mazin Cyberloner`s option works perfect and I think I`ll use it. I don`t understand to these commands so I was just trying. Tested several options with partial success; Office XP doesn`t install not due to different time point of installation (at Registering components) but due to missing file... I planned to remove rundll32 iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess from 1st ROE but didn`t yet. I will test it and will see... @ cyberloner The problem is that i tested my installation more than 30 times in VMware and I was also forced to use it on real machine by reinstalling the system due to error caused by Net Framework 2.0 (win message:system not completely installed, please run setup again) Office is installed also on my real machine without any problem. OfficeXP - I easily managed it to work so I put instructions there for newbies like me. I don`t know why it stopped to work/starts missing 1 file... -
Too many installs to be seen on the Runonce list?
embe replied to Mikep7779's topic in Application Installs
Just tested and even if it`s not exactly what I was looking for it`s very good option which works like a charm! Thanks mate! (Strange is that my OfficeXp shrinked with Office shrinker doesn`t work, i changed /gn switch to /gb so I can see what`s going on and error message pop ups with some missing file - i think error 1308 or so. So I removed all rows from ROE and tested just OfficeXP and the same result. So I took backup copy of shrinked OffiecXp and the same...i know this is not caused by multiple ROEs... but i don`t know what it causes and I`m lazy make office shrink again especially when it worked before. If i press ignore on that missing file it finish installation of office and office works..really strange...) -
Too many installs to be seen on the Runonce list?
embe replied to Mikep7779's topic in Application Installs
1st of all thanks 4 reply. So to be sure: 1) merge my 2 ROEs to 1 single ROE? 2) Name it as "install.cmd" and put it to XPCD\$OEM$\$DOCS\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup Do I have therefore delete RunOnceEx instruction from cmdlines.txt (as there will be no ROE anymore I think)? I have tested several options yesterday but none of them works as I need. What I need is to execute 1st ROE after the 1st logon and then after 1st ROE end I need to start another ROE and so on (no reboot necessary...)I don`t want these run at a half of "Registering components" process (T@12 ?) Thanks -
Installing .NET Framework 2.0 from SVCPACK
embe replied to Pete_'s topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I would try it on a VM first if I was you.. because like I said, svcpack is where it should be installed from. This error message is generated when you attempt to use a .NET 2.0 installer that is specifically made for svcpack after svcpack. You need to use it from within svcpack only. If you'd like a .NET 2.0 installer that will run from RunOnceEx, then you need an installer that simply makes the msiexec call and nothing else. I did it on real PC and the same error occured - "System not completely installed, please run setup again" This error message is generated when you attempt to use a .NET 2.0 installer that is specifically made for svcpack after svcpack. You need to use it from within svcpack only. If you'd like a .NET 2.0 installer that will run from RunOnceEx, then you need an installer that simply makes the msiexec call and nothing else. Now i see and understand. Means this if I download .NET 2.0 from M$ site it will work? Coz I downloaded it from your page I think (but I`m not 100% sure) The problem is if I modify svcpack now, after I added several hotfixes before, it looks like it removes some of them, for example i remember Windows update software... -
Too many installs to be seen on the Runonce list?
embe replied to Mikep7779's topic in Application Installs
Hi, below are my RunOnceEx and 2ndRunOnceex called from RunOnceEx. What I want is that RunOnceEx starts after 1st logon and 2ndRunOnceEx after RunOnceEx finish... The reason is that I have too many apps to install. Currently attached RunOnceEx and 2nd RunOnceEx starts prior to first logon, it runs when system "REGISTERING COMPONENTS" and "SAVES SETTINGS" etc. It causes problems coz Office XP isn`t installed for example... Can somebody advise what to change in both ROE so these runs after 1st logon? None of above posts doesn`t help... Thanks...! Installing .NET Framework 2.0 from SVCPACK
embe replied to Pete_'s topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Guys, why if I run silent instalation of Net framework 2.0 from RunOnceEx my system doesn`t start. It normally boots and very close to showing my desktop I get error message "System not completely installed, please run setup again" I know what it causes as explained here: Framework 2.0 but I need to know what to do to eliminate it... -
This happens/happened when you ran .net silent installer with T-12/T-13 modification after installation is complete (after the second reboot). Windows simply reads a reg key to know if installation has completed. .Net installer checks the value of this key and depending on the result : it installs or not. .Net unattended installer sets this registry key to something meaning 'installation completed', runs classic .net installer, waits for it to finish and set the key back to 'installation not completed' whatever was the original value. (I ran this installer days after windows was installed. Solved with UBCD4Win.) I don't know if Aserone's installer has been updated. It`s pity that I just reinstalled win after this happened and I didn`t check for the solution. So it happens again after I included framework 2.0 (Framework 1.1 added a long time ago and tested several times wiith other wares in VMW many times - after each programm added). What I have to do now? Is there a chance to return Windows to work without reinstalling? What`s the UBCD4Win and what to do with it? Thanks, embe

Can't seem to install this one app silently

Hi, example: REG ADD %KEY%\065 /VE /D "LUPAS" /f REG ADD %KEY%\065 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\Lupas\setupEN.exe /VERYSILENT /SP-" /f this is enough, tested and works perfectly.
