the debate is this:

either

install every hotfix (eg. for windows update, new arabic fonts etc and japanese ime hotfixes) for everything so i have a fully updated cd. benefits are old files are replaced with newer ones. cons: updates files for things i will NEVER use.

install only hotfixes in need (for WMP11, IE7, critical updates etc). benefits: potentially less conflicts coz not installing so mamny updates. possibly less problems in the future. cons: not all files updates

what should i do?

also is it possible to remove outlook expreess w/o screwing up windows/ie7 etc???

cheers :)

yes ive doen all thtat...thanks

im just wondering (this will be my 2nd slipstreamed cd) if its worth including all the hotfixes that i never will need, e.g for wundows update, japanese characters update, high mat cd burning plugin etc) or should i just leave them out as i have been ATM (and just including all the relevant ones for me and the critical updates)

cheers :)

This issue is really just a matter of personal preference. Some ppl want to have nearly all the fixes installed, but personally then i only want to have updates installed that really serves a purposse i.e. which is important for either security or stability, and which then means that i install all high priority updates(except IE7 and WGAN), and don't install any optional fixes at all, as they only adress minor issues. Additionally, then i don't like the idea of having any unofficial updates installed either. For ppl that feel the same as me, then Xable's XUDPack is a great alternative to RyanVM's pack.

Xable's XUDPack :

Or as Kelsenellenelvian allready said, then if you want to have most of the optional fixes also installed + some unofficial fixes which supercedes the official ones, then instead go for :

RyanVM's Pack :

...Just to let ppl know that there are more than one way to skin the cat(or something like that) :)
