i have an small website with nice amount of visitors per day and enough registered members.though the forum is almost empty and no matter if i post a cool or useful topic still views are good but no replies.and members show no activity on the forum and none of them ever made any post.i know that because of low number of posts and members people wouldnt like to post but as far as i know everyforum starts like that.

so any idea's or suggestion's on how to make them show activity on the forum? any tip's?

Offer a small incentive to post. I really don't know how you could implement something like that, I had a few active members on a forum I had, but then it just all went downhill. Perhaps you will have better luck and maybe one day it just takes off.

Gain a public mage and make it usefull.

For example

The gamefaqs fourms have people who visited gamefaqs.

The Ogrish forums have people into whatever they have.

Other places have XXX all over the place.

Darksea has Ecco

MSFN has usefull material towards computers

Xband fourm has people who are intrested in Xband

The Spawn Forums has people who like Spawn.

Depending on your website you will get certain types of people. Personally I would go to "Gametalk.com" since they have all kinds of people hanging around and it is a open forum.

You can also lie about the forum and pretend to talk to yourself ( which another forum has done many times ) and make it look intresting like where radio stations talk to fake guesses.

Also what is your website providing that is diffrent then other forums?

Are you for children young adults or oldies? Mature or Kiddy?

Making a frontpage is effective about it. Unreal Portal for Invision forum is nice.
