Aaron
Have any of you found a way to speed it logging in after it boots up? My XP machine boots up quick, 25-35 seconds. But then it take literally 4-6 minutes to go through the whole login proccess. Any Suggestions?I'm running on a P4 2.2GHz, 512 MB RAMTry assigning a static IP to the network card if you have one. Not assigning one will cause the slow logon, because it waits between 1-3mins trying to contact a DHCP server, then when it doesn't find one it assigns a random IP and continues the logon process. Swift
Thanx for the suggestions. The challenge is that we use DHCP at my office. So I guess that part I'm stuck with. I only have one program in my startup folder. What are the none critical services I can disable?
b0r3d
Just assign your NIC with an IP at teh end of the IP Scope. like 192.168.0.254That way the chances of another PC using that same Ip are slim

ahmedramzi
also be careful with the integrity of the programs you're installing.. if you're using a cracked program or something, maybe it's the cause of the problem coz mostly these cracks are full of bugs that, indeed, may slow down your bootup process.
