Hi,

My ISP is Virgin(former NTL). Im using cable modem. I bought Wireless Broadband Router and Im trying to configure, but something is wrong.

I go through there setup, everything seems fine - I get dynamic IP, but for some reasons I I cant reach modem.

ping 192.168.1.1

Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=255

Seems fine. Then I ping to modems IP:

ping 81.99.195.19

Pinging 81.99.195.19 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 192.168.1.1: Destination host unreachable.
Reply from 192.168.1.1: Destination host unreachable.
Reply from 192.168.1.1: Destination host unreachable.
Reply from 192.168.1.1: Destination host unreachable.

Any ideas? Where should I start?

Fixing Destination host unreachable Error

If the computers is telling you "desintation host unreachable" this means you have a problem with your physical setup. Make sure all wires are plugged in correctly; check the power on your hub/witch/router, etc.

@albynas

Pinging the external (public) IP fo your modem will give you destination host unreacheable. Have you tried to ping another IP?

ping www.google.com
