DarkBringer Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 A minor problem but, looking in my Add or Remove Programs list, the size of Windows Messenger 5.0 is 4,088.00 MB!I know that's not the actual size but why is this so?It doesn't affect anything does it?(Windows XP Home SP1a + Update Rollout + Critical Updates + Recommended Updates except Q817778 & Microsoft Windows Journal Viewer)
gamehead200 Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 I'm pretty sure that if you look closely enough, you will realize it says: 4,088 KB!
DarkBringer Posted October 19, 2003 Author Posted October 19, 2003 Nope.Checked again.Still 4,088.00 MB(If I knew how to copy & paste it I'd show you)
DaveXP Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 i have that error with Kazaa, Uninstall and reinstall it should fix it.
DarkBringer Posted October 19, 2003 Author Posted October 19, 2003 Uninstalled and reinstalled it and now it's not showing up in my Add or Remove Programs list. Uh Ohh.....
DaveXP Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 Check windows update to see if it there if so download it again and restart your machine
DarkBringer Posted October 20, 2003 Author Posted October 20, 2003 Checked Windows Update and it's not there. But it is in my Start menu\All Programs list. Just not in Add or Remove Programs.Strange...........
Marztabator Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 I don't believe any version of Windows Messenger provides an uninstall slot in Add/Remove Programs (yet MSN Messenger does). Confusing.
GreenMachine Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 Mine is just like DarkB's: Installed via GuiRunOnce, entry in add/remove, size=4088 Mb. I'm waiting till I really need the space to uninstall. (Was someone talking about BloatWare?)
