i can't install vmware workstation 6

hi, i can't install vmware workstation v6.0.0.45731 on my vlited vista home basic

any suggestions? tnx

the same thing happened to me with a complete unmodified instalation of vista. On the vmware site there is some info about this.

For me it worked after I selected Windows XP compatibility for the installer and disabled that user account protection stuff.

Try creating a shortcut to the installer. Go to the propperties of the shortcut and there should be an compatablity setting under one of the tabs. If all else fails, right click the shortcut and say "Run as administrator". That bypasses all protections.

the network drivers that are installed by VMware and the vmount2.exe service require administrator privileges.
