My View Sonic Monitor needs a resolution of 1440*900.

But I do not seem t0 have that resolution in vista. Any drivers to be loaded or is the monitor not compatible?

You need to update your video card drivers. Find the manufacturer's website, download and install the drivers. After reboot you should be able to set the resolution.

try getting a driver for your monitor model, then unckeck "hide modes......"
