Manage extension

Hi, does anyone know of a little program that can manage extensions for me. For example, when I installed Dreamweaver, it took over my php files and other sorts. or when I install a player it would take over the handling of mp3 files. Yes, I can do it through windows and just click the check box to use something else instead, but I have to go through each extension the certain program took over. I just want to like sort it out, and choose the program which I want to use to open a file.
